The rules were already defined. It is best not to participate if one cannot abide with the rules.

Time for Dodson to get lost. The SRU has a chav running his mouth. He has to go.

I think in cases where the weather is at levels dangerous to the general public, they should go ahead and cancel. Trying to get everyone back for the game at a later date is virtually impossible.

What WR needs to do is state exactly what the contingency plans were for moving the games, this they haven't done.

According to the UK Guardian who said they'd seen the plans, the contingency was to originally move the game from Yokohama to Tokyo (Ajinomoto). If that was the case, then Scotland and the other teams have a right to feel aggrieved over the 'robust contingency plans' (WR's words).

Every man and his dog could see that the short distance between the two places would be dwarfed by a normal typhoon's front, let alone the size of Hagibis.

Until WR come clean, it appears they and the hosts dropped the ball on this.

Slap on the wrist, move on, forget about it.

The Scots made it an entertaining game, so credit to them for that.

"Under our tournament rules, we're very careful that people behave appropriately and as a result of that we've referred to independent disputes committee the behavior and comments of the Scottish Rugby Union," tournament director Alan Gilpin told a news conference.

Poor form WR. The Scots, Italians, Canadians, Namibians etc had every right to voice their concern/disappointment and feel disrespected. The fact remains that there was no contingency plan, no plan B/C etc and that smaller nations were treated like second class athletes just here to make up the numbers.

I hope all nations (not the only the few who got shafted) stick with the Scots against WR.

Too late! They should have referred this to the complaints committee before the game, not with the benefit of hindsight. Now the Scots look weak, having lost. Kick a man while he is standing, if you will, but not after he is down. Forgive, forget, move on!

It was just so goofy that Scotland complained before anything had taken place. Red card.

BUT, organizers could arrange to have the players and support staff meet at another location, or at another time and location to simply play the game out. Would it cost more money? Probably. But there would be a lot more satisfied fans.

Actually it was almost 24 hours after the typhoon not a few hours. However, I am happy that the game was played and the better team moved onto the quarter finals.

It was great the game was allowed to go ahead and Japan qualified on merit by beating Scotland. It was a thriller of a game. Fans would have been deprived of such high level entertainment if it had been canceled. I have problems with the tournament's rules particularly on cancelation and why games cannot be rescheduled but I guess until the rules are changed, it is what it is.
