Japan withered in the second half. Maybe too hot or they were not fit enough. Or they just gave up before the end.

England was very predictable - especially in the first half. But the Brave Blossoms threw nothing at them to capitalize on this.

Japan is a solid tier 2 team. They have decided to play their own take on "power rugby" choosing to fill their squad with big powerful residency players. This works well against tier 3 sides like Chile and gives them parity with other tier two teams. But lets be honest, how are players that are not good enough to play for NZ, South Africa and Samoa going to be good enough to beat those countries or other top tier nations? Japan reached their peak at the 2019 world cup where they had the luxury of training together for a year under the umbrella of the Sun Wolves team in the Super Rugby league. The change in the residency rules from 3 to 5 years is going to make it more difficult for Japan to boost its squad with overseas talent. Time to go back to the fast, non stop, all action rugby that made Japan so entertaining to watch.

For me being English I find England's recent form of kicking all the time boring in the extreme. I was a little disappointed with the amount of foreign second rate players in the Blossoms, I would much prefer to see the style from the 2019 Blossoms who don't forget beat South Africa. I actually attended that game and brought a Blossoms shirt, the atmosphere was amazing and the majority of crowd were routing for the Blossoms.

I hope to see the Brave Blossoms get through to the next round!

Would like to see what Japan could do with no foreign help. Would be interesting.

The 2019 Blossoms didn't beat South Africa. The 2015 Blossoms beat South Africa.

Really?
