Blame the idiot fans who turned up 20 minutes before the kick off expecting to walk straight in.

I was there. It was a total Frog shambles. Turned up 45 minutes before kick off (late due to the appalling public transport) and still missed the start (got to my seat same time Curry was walking off for his yellow). No beer at the stadium. By the time we got out public transport was finished for the day so it was a bloody nightmare. Utter farce, but that's standard French organization for you. Marseille is a dump. Roll on vs. Japan in Nice next weekend.

Seriously, the French authorities have an appalling record of dealing with events like this. No clue about logistic, crowd control, environment etc.

This tournament is not a stitch on the organisational quality of 2019. That is already 100% clear.

A source close to the organizers said the problem had arisen because a large number of supporters arrived shortly before the match at one of the two designated entrances.

They said that after the Liverpool v Madrid game and eventually had to humilitate themselves by admitting they lied.

You're such a sucker for authority. Is walking into a stadium so difficult for the French to co-ordinate? Every other nation has no problem with fans doing this. Why do the French have such trouble?

Kipling... we waited 45 minutes to get through turnstiles. French are flat out lying.

makes me wonder about EXITS. in the event of a bomb-scare (or worse), or any panic-triggering eventuality.... would anyone be able to escape the confines of the stadium?

"Marseille is a dump."

the city has a lot going for it, but is certainly the gomi (and dogshit) capital of the northern hemisphere....
