Both Liverpool and Southampton did not play well from the start. Southampton improved for a while, scoring twice, but it was probably not good enough to stay up. Magician Salah took the wand and won the game, putting his team 8 points clear at the top of the league. Man City are up next weekend, and whatever the score, Liverpool will remain top.

Liverpool on a roll whilst City are in the doldrums. I for one am very pleased to see the moneybags cheaters faltering like this. Hope they get points deducted and they go down. As my dear old gran often said ‘cheaters never prosper’.

Looks like Crystal Palace will go down this season.

The Liverpool Slot machine is paying out.

Wallace

Doubt it, been a mess like many seasons, will pick up soon and scrape through again.

Liverpool not at their best there but got the job done. The errors for Liverpool’s first goal were comical.

Salah’s consistency is ridiculously high.

Just looked at Salah’s PL stats ( I think it’s up to date ):

275 appearances

167 goals

75 assists

Outstanding.

Salah is the football magician Liverpool must do everything in its power to keep and give him a new three-year contract.

"The Egyptian King" is the best striker in the EPL. You can keep your Haalands as far as I'm concerned. Whatever the Saudi teams are offering him, Liverpool need to ensure they offer more. If that involves clearing some players out, so be it.

Surely the glory of winning the EPL - and possibly Champions League - is worth more than an oil league? I hope so, anyway.
