Go on ahead, grunt all you want. But I for one have given up watching women's tennis because of it. It is a disgusting habit, and can be broken. I loved women's tennis when I was young, as it was so beautiful to watch. Nowadays it is like listening to a hog farm.

Sure lotsa gals that're closet screamers.

Some folks like some grunting and screaming, but it can be a nuisance for others.

This is funny, pertains to the story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD8UvA69bjk

I find it nothing but annoying and pathetic - it is nothing more than trash talking on the court. The only difference being I don't have to hear the trash talk while watching.

So what are they going to do? Hold their breath as they play? It will never happen.

If noises like grunts or shrieks weren't distracting, then why must the gallery remain silent during volleys?

In protest, I think the gallery should grunt/shriek a half second before the shrieker hits the ball. I wonder if it will be distracting for them?

right, next thing you know they can't hit the ball too hard because it could distract the other player ... this is bs
