Absolutely shameless and tone-deaf on SOO many levels. He could have just given her some local, traditional items from his home prefecture of Iwate as a "thank you." That would have been HUMBLE and RESPECTFUL (and boosted the popularity of Iwate and Iwate goods) A win-win in accord with Japanese sensibilities.

This sports propaganda is transparent and tiring. Sports and news about athletes shouldn't even be in news publications. There should just be separate sports publications. Many don't want to admit it, but spectator sports are not important. Same with celebrity news. Leave it out of publications that have more important daily updates on current issues and events. Now, you have articles with photos of mother's holding children while crying in warzones right next to sports teams celebrating a win. The divide between people is not based on race, religion, nationality. It's based on those that are sane and those that are insane.

There sure are a lot of people who take out their frustrations at having never achieved greatness on the people who have achieved greatness.

@garypen No it did not as a matter of fact it’s silver it was parked in front of her their home and as I type I can still see the vehicle in the driveway. Joe and his wife were high school sweethearts we live in the same hometown. How do I know they live a stone throw from my home.
