I’m a big Ohtani fan, but saying he is surpassing most of the achievements of Babe Ruth is really pegging the ridulometer.

Stats are stats. Besides, have you ever seen footage of the Babe? Compare the physical conditioning of the two men side by side... It's not hard to believe. Baseball was a different game, back then.

Shohei blows away the babe. Babe was great in his day but Showtime is in a league of his own and redefines baseball. Full Stop!

@Patient, ‘surpassing most achievements’ of Ruth…what are they? Ohtani will have more ten win, ten home run seasons…what else?

Hats off to the two-way megastar! Fully deserved.

Ohtani is much better than Babe Ruth was. Ohtani is the greatest baseballer of all time - and has at least 10 more years to ensure his records will never be broken.

Congratulations to Ohtani, who if recent reports are correct will be joined by Yamamoto, I'm not a Dodgers fan, but I'm happy they're playing on the west coast, and wearing blue hats not red like the Angels and other losers.

So what "winner" do you root for?

I am looking forward to seeing how well the Dodgers do this next season. They may very well set a new record for the most games won in a single season, if they don't get beset with too many injuries.

I don't know much about the Babe, but I wish it were possible to watch a head to head matchup between Koufax/Drysdale vs. Ohtani/Yamamoto. Better yet, I would like to see them all play in the same rotation. It would be in the realm of the possible for the Dodgers to get four shut outs in a row, with that lineup.
