Do we really have to have a daily update about him?

Why, you don't want front seat of history in the making?

Do we really have to have a daily update about him?

What he is doing, no matter his being Japanese or not, is incredible. Consider that in all the years that people have been playing baseball, he is one of two people to have accomplished what he has, and this year is only about half over!

Now from the Japanese side, he is a source of great pride for people who appreciate his uniqueness, and I for one hope every single "new" accomplishment he makes, gets written about here!

Pitchers don’t seem to be getting the memo. DO NOT THROW THIS MAN A STRIKE UNLESS ITS ON ONE OF LOWER CORNERS. If you throw him a breaking ball, make damn sure it breaks out of the zone because he WILL NOT MISS.

it's incredible to you. Doesn't mean it's incredible to everyone.

When he stops doing totally amazing super awesome stuff every day we won’t need the daily updates anymore.

Until then I say let the daily updates roll!

You do understand this is the baseball section, right? If you don’t find baseball interesting there are many other stories on different topics for you to read.

It's still incredible nonetheless. Just like Nobel prize. You don't care about it but the winners are still incredible.

It's been updated just when he renewed the record isn't it? If it annoys you, just don't read or watch it (sounds familiar?)

Well, don no why but sounds awkward why you had to mention that.

We need a no hitter from Shotime.

As Crash Davis once said

”Anything that travels that far ought to have a stewardess on it”

real distance, considering exit velocity, may have been closer to 500 feet as Angels manager Madden said. The reaction oh Mariners pitcher Marco Gonzales was priceless

I hate the guy...way too good-looking but he is indeed something special.

Let the records fall.

Well, thank you for pointing that out.

Ohtani-kun, please to show Japan Strength to american baseball players! Now, Japan has shown it is dominate in Tennis and now Baseball. traditional Kaigai sports. I think 30 gold medals at the olympics is VERY realistic!

The naysayers can moan all they want. Ohtani

Great job Otani.

He will finish 3rd in the MVP voting.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The naysayers can moan all they want. Ohtani is a class act and will probably go down in MLB history as, not one of the greatest Japanese players, but one of the greatest players of all time. Period.

Luvin' the numbers here.

Just skip the story and read something else if you're not interested.

Or you can just skip a comment you don't agree with.

Potential history in the making with Ohtani.

Not even close yet. He would have to replicate this season for 5-6 years at the least.

For example, he currently does not even rank in the top 1000 for all-time home runs.

He is great SO FAR THIS SEASON. It's only July and it's a long season.

The great thing about news sites is that I get to choose what I read and what I don't. I, for one, will read about Ohtani.

Because if he wasnt Japanese there wouldnt be any stories like this here on JT!

I have seen him both pitch and hit at Angel Stadium, and I don't know what to say, other than that he is very impressive. When he is on the field, there is a sense that one is watching history in the making. Reminds me of Don Drysdale, although to be fair, if he keeps this up, he could eventually be compared to Babe Ruth. I said eventually.
