Once again: If anybody can do it, it's Ohtani. The question is: will he be able to hit well? He might have to take a game off it the Series goes more than four games. But. . .if anybody can do it. . .

I didn’t think that would be possible. Amazing series so far. Can’t wait for game 3.

Besides being a great hitter, Ohtani is such a smart player. He seems to have a sixth sense about how to play every moment.

The benefits of still being young, able to heal quickly. If that were my 53 year old body, my arm would have come off.

Not only the base that Ohtani steals.. He also steals the attention of the fans that Yamamoto the pitcher should have savor over his win to the Yankees. I like Ohtani though.

@west sea

agree, the media obsession with Ohtani is over the top. If you look at that slide it was fairly routine. Obviously Ohtani didn’t separate his shoulder as some reported. I’m not being critical of Ohtani just saying we need to keep things in perspective. He is batting something like .147 for the series. There are other players to focus on too.

Good news, now just play smart.

Yes - it was Yamamoto's night.

1 hit - 1 homer, but did the rest in.

Only a little celebration on the news here.

He did the tough stuff to make a win possible.

This shows why Japanese are the best athletes. They can play through the pain like no other nationality. He is definitely the greatest baseball player ever now.

Japan time give us a break,

nothing was broken or separated

ive seen ice hockey players suffer tremendous damage and they never miss a shift. Ohtani was rolling around on the pitch like a soccer player with a sore calf.

Glad he is OK. I just wonder why in the world he was trying to steal with a 3-run lead that late in the game, and with two outs. There was no need for it - he is fast enough to get to third on a single and home on a double. Either he or the manager goofed that one. If I were Roberts, I'd sit him on Game 3, let him heal, and then play him in game four. The series is in hand and the rest of the line up is lighting it up. No need to risk next season.

Even an injured Ohtani will be by far the best on field. Surgery or treatment can wait until seasons end.

Get the job done, Dodgers!

Agreed...the media coverage is excessive.

Maybe because it's the World Series, he's a star player, he just got injured, he's Japanese, and this is a Japanese media site. Think much?

Wow. This would just add to his “not human” reputation

Two games in and the mvp is either Edman, Freeman or Betts
