Will be interesting to watch the game tonight (tomorrow?). Will it be a Spain/Germany or a Spain/Italy final....

Glad I didn't watch this 0-0 yawnfest! Sounds like neither team played attacking football?

Not a real tournament unless the United States is in it.

I wonder if someone haven't watched the game why should comment on the way teams played?
It was a good game with Spaniards trying everything in their arsenal but Portuguese not giving them much space and making very fast attacks in return. Not very attractive indeed but full of tension and some very good performances from both teams. If you want to enjoy football I always prefer the games early in the tournament. Closer to the finals the teams are more careful but the last night game by no means was boring. It was a good fighting match and it could have finished earlier for either side.

Ok, not a classic but not bad either especially the extra time period.
Well as US is not part of europe we decided not to invite them. Sorry about that. Anyway, the US wins lots of truely international tournaments like the the "world" baseball series which features countries from all over ....................hang on.......... features teams from all over america thus making america world champion every year.

It was a good game, but winning on penalties?? No, not the kind of game I like to watch, but congrats to España!!!

Great game. Both sides had chances, and Portugal was good at weathering the storm Spain brought. Unfortunate that games like this have to end on a crap-shoot - literally. FIFA needs to remove this embarrassment from the "perfect game" and rethink OT rules. There is nothing wrong with evolution of a sport.

This tournament shows how pointless and boring this game is, 90 minutes no goals and it comes down to penalty shots, might as well do away with actually playing the game and just have a penalty shoot out competition, save everyone the 90 minutes of boringnes called football.

Exportexpert It was a good game. Watched it, did you? Oh, by the way, they are called penalty kicks not penalty 'shots'.

still looks strange to me. 90 minutes (or more ) of playing a game with such rigid, unrealistic rules for being offside; but when the result is a tie, or even worse scoreless soccer, the shoot-out is the ridiculously unfair spectacle of a shooter allowed an unchallenged four or five steps to put a resting ball past the lone goalkeeper, and from a distance where one of the most crucial elements in any game of eye-hand-foot coordination - - timing - - is basically made a non-factor.

It's a bit irritating to hear people's comments on a game they didn't watch or sniping about a sport they don't really understand. Enjoy your own minority sports and let the enlightened world enjoy the beautiful game.
