After this case I noticed all talk of doping stopped here, especially the "Japan never does it" rubbish.

Saito has denied knowingly ingesting the banned substance, a drug used to treat conditions like glaucoma, altitude sickness and epilepsy but which also works as a masking agent for steroids.

Saito claimed an extremely small amount of acetazolamide came into contact with something he ate or drank before the doping test, and the ISU recognized that possibility, according to his lawyer.

It's nice that there are food manufacturers out there that are putting medicines in their food to treat epilepsy and altitude sickness. That's really ace! These companies should be named and celebrated for their public service.
