In the lead up to the tournament the sports news was hyping Kisenosato up BIG time. How well he was doing in practice, his performance, everything, and now they are all scratching their heads and eating their words.
I kind of feel sorry for the guy, he was a decent sumo wrestler, but not good enough to be a yokozuna, for a myriad of reasons, yet ultimately it was his ego that got the best of him.
I like the "old" days where it was necessary to win 2 tournaments in a row as an ozeki, to be promoted to yokozuna!

The problem is that he was promoted to Yokozuna. If he stayed at Ozeki he would have had several years of active wrestling left. There was too much pessure to have a "Japanese" yokozuna.
