It’s cold in Paris in February but I think these sumo wrestlers wouldn’t feel much cold because they have thick subcutaneous fat.

The ordinary Frenchman really couldn't give a toss about this sport.

And I'm here having my morning coffee to tell all about it. HEY...EVERYONE! ORDINARY FRENCHMEN DON'T CARE ABOUT SUMO!

Did everyone get that?

Did you get what I said?

I hope so...That's why I took the time to tell you. LISTEN TO ME!

What you might not know is that the TV channel L’Equipe , free to watch, broadcasts the sumo tournaments in a very exciting way. No live so all the useless and long time out are cut. The diffusion is very exciting thanks to the commentator passion. It has resulted in many French having an interest in Sumo.

There's an easy way to close down the arguments that sumo is all about size and nothing else: Chiyonofuji.

Ignorant people said the same against Judo in France..

They'll sell like Taylor Swift. They should dance at the Japan Expo too.

In addition, that's like soccer players. They will have many Japanese fans (including some that'd never go to a basho in Japan) that will travel to see them in Paris.

Some French people seem interested.

From a 90-year-old book by Jean Cocteau,

”The wrestlers are young, peach-colored giants who seem to be an exceptional race, having escaped from the ceiling paintings of the Suixtine Chapel.

Some, by virtue of their traditional training, display huge bellies and full-grown lady's breasts.

Every type of rikishi wear topknots and have lovely feminine features.

An immovable equilibrium is created. Soon their legs become entwined, their fingers slip between the belt and the flesh, their mawashi falls back, their muscles bulge, their feet take root in the ring, blood rushes to their skin, and the entire surface of the ring is stained a light pink.”

It's interesting.
