Slapped down!

But no problem for the backers, I presume...? And often backers have “connections.” To be fair, it was probably a difficult dinner not to attend.

Tis is clown world. Now you get in trouble for going out for drinks with friends. Sounds like a jealous wife

Japan's easygoing sumo-san are natural-born spongers and hard-pressed to turn down a free meal and free booze.

And everyone who attends these tournaments is free to go and eat out wherever they choose? What stops THEM from passing Covid onto the team during these events? Very little if you're in an event that now holds 2500 spectators.

If having one meal out made him feel normal, why give him hell. Treated like children while the bosses are the ones risking everyone's health to begin with.

Only said by someone who does not follow the rules.

He has a choice too, doesn't like the rules, quit. He agreed to follow the rules, when he joined the sumo association, they made the rules, he broke them, he pays for it.

But I guess you are one of "those" that flaunts the rules and has no integrity to follow them.

Dont like it...quit! That's a viable option too!

Covid-19 will continue for a very long time because, as the saying goes, there's always one idiot. Sadly, in the case of Covid-19, one idiot probably means thousands end up suffering and some dying. Even more sadly, there are actually thousands of idiots in the world so we are all stuffed.

Putting a new spin on oshidashi...

Sumos need to be extra careful with Covid-19. Its not kind to obesity and its already claimed one sumo. Wise up!

Why? The government and the media is encouraging people to go out and spend. Why is he being needlessly seeked out, while 'talents' and politicians get a pass?

Okay, let me get this the Sumo wrestlers are ordered to stay isolated because of this virus. However, for everyone else go out and party, go on holidays and the rest of it not a problem. I truly wish the rest of the Japanese would follow the Sumo protocol and stay home and only go to work and or school.

MMMMMM what was he thinking???.

Surely his oyakata knew of this, shouldn't he be "rebuked" as well?
