I do not understand how Takahashi and Chan could be ahead of Joubert when Joubert performed a combination qith a quad. Strange sport.

Well, the Vancouver Olympics ice skating results proved that you don't have to have a quad routine in your program to do well in the scoring.

Yes, according to some, it is not figure skating anymore. It is now ice dancing. Not sure if that is true, but if they keep getting farther away from the sport aspect, that's what may happen. Congrats to all three performers. Was this on TV?

Let's accurate sports reporting. One does not "win" the short programme, one is "leading" after the short programme.

I thought Takahashi was the best of all the skaters I saw in Vancouver, actually. Men or women.
I am not particularly interested in figure skating, but his performance made me interested in it.

Takahashi is the best, plus what a hottie he is!

If he performed the short program he did at the Olympics, that was a great number--energetic, sexy performance.
SumoBob--yeah, I got confused with the "win" written in the article. It seemed like they were awarding skaters for the short program.

"win" is correct. Don't you know the "Small Medal" after the SP??
They get a Small Medal after the ShortProgram & another Small Medal after Free in every competition. I don't know about the Olympics,though....
Let's study more about FigureSkating and have more fun.
