Most of the 17 year olds I know can barely drive to the store and back without a ridiculous amount of drama.

Yeah, she definitely has me beat. At 17, I could barely make it to high school unscathed. I totalled one car delivering pizzas. I also undertook brainy experiments like seeing how fast I could drive down the street ... in reverse. Or swinging my car into a large snow drift b/c hey, that looks fun and what harm can snow do.

Gutsy girl. Wishing her all the best.

This quote, however, seems a little economical with the facts. "...gasps from the crowd as the Van Amersfoort Racing driver's car flew through the air and into safety netting"... .

What I saw was a car ripping through safety netting and slamming into a two-story structure of some kind with staff running in all directions, before falling back down in between. The crowds gasped, shouted and screamed.

Good luck to her! Hope she recovers completely.

One bit of advice for when you go back to racing. Make sure to slow down and NOT speed up before entering curves :)
