For sure. But let's ("us" generally, not directed at you, tooheysnew) stop it with assuming that dumping the old coach was the wrong move. I think the only clear conclusion that can be made is that the NEW COACH she selected was wrong. The old coach... we don't know the full story. Her career blossomed under him, but if there were personal problems and mental anguish, then that's a trade-off that no one on the outside is qualified to weigh in on.

With the exception of Halep's run a couple of years ago, you have to go back to Serena's domination starting in 2013 to find any woman who was able to hold onto the #1 ranking for any length of time. 3 weeks, 8 weeks, 5 weeks... it's a lot of short-term appearances at the top.

I have no doubt about Ash Barty will stay on number One rank for long times. Barty plays much better than Osaka-san on all surfaces. Barty had won Wimbledon junior championship. She can win Wimbledon title again.

I don't think Naomi Osaka-san can win and defend her the US Open title. She has lost her way after wining Australia Open and she sack her Coach.

Naomi Osaka-san becoming an arrogant, not knowingly herself. She will say "I wasn't that kind of person". However, she does not understand what happening with her life after winning the Australian Open because she didn't listen to her coach Sascha Bajin and she though the Australian open was won by without her former coach Sascha Bajin.

She hasn't passed the third round since the Australian Open. Naomi Osaka-san needs to grow up and mature. She plays really bad at the moment.
