Most of us were there mostly for the sport. But there were some literally getting enraged, writing pathetic comments like "...the opening ceremony is Satanic! Satanic! They are showing people being beheaded!" And on, and on. Every aspect of the Paris Games was being criticised by some of these misery guts.

I, for one, enjoyed most of it. (Yes, some things like the dirty river swim was ill-conceived).

Paris will be a tough act for LA to follow.

It would have been far more carbon friendly by not holding this overblown high school sports carnival at all.

I still cannot believe swimming competitors were forced to swim in the Seine. Was a huge dose of antibiotics provided free of charge afterwards? Even antibiotics is not enough. The amount of fertilizer runoff and other chemical pollution must be off the charts.
