Hamada, Wolf add 2 more judo gold for Japan

I am floored by how fast Hamada pulled Ippons in both semi and final. Japan is really on a roll with Judo.

Stoked for Aaron you could see how much that meant to him. TV Cameraman who shoved his camera right ( centimeters away) in his face as he squatted down after getting off the mat was out of pocket, take it back a few meters you vulture. Give him just a little bit of space. Wonder if he we will hear more about him from now on, and take the pressure off Naomi, when it comes to being a person (who the media want sound bites from) of mixed parentage in Japan, and especially since he is fluent and lived here his whole life.

We are killing it with judo. it's a shame we aren't that good with the archery competitions even though archery is practice a lot here.

I am always happy when another half or mixed kid (like me) takes a win for Japan.

I was surprised to learn this morning that Hamada is also a gold medalist in Sambo, which helps to explain her boss-level ground technique. It's pretty rare for Japanese athletes to cross-train disciplines and even more rare for it to be approved of (especially by the conservative judo federation). I hope this helps chip away a little at the "one sport all year" mentality over here. Also, 30 years old? Pretty long in the tooth for a female judoka. Good on her.

Congrats to both Judo champs. I'm quite surprised but I guess I eat my words about biracial athletes quitting.

On other note, congrats to Mima Ito-Japan for winning Bronze in table tennis women single and Dima Ovtcharov-Germany for ALMOST winning against Ma Long.

Congratulations to both champions. Again, I'm shocked by the negative marks given to such positive encouradgement comments - if you don't like they have beaten someone from your country, why don't you encourage those athletes, instead of -1-ing the comments around here?

Perhaps if Japanese high schools had modern competitive archery clubs rather than the traditional Kyudo-bu, I could agree with you.

Not a Judo fan here and the rules are pretty arcane to me, but some of these bouts have been fascinating to watch. Congratulations to the right rock-solid medal winners.

You could see how much this meant to Aaron Wolf. Brilliant. And a few days ago I didn’t even know he existed…

At the press conference after the competition, a reporter asked Wolf, "Have you ever had a hard time in the half? at the press conference and tried to get him to criticize Japan.

Wolf replied, "I have never had a hard time in the half," which was probably not the answer the reporter wanted.

Aaron Wolf has expressed HIS desire to the US Embassy is move to the United States of America to improve his English and his dream to the teach judo abroad. He says he cares more about being a respectful human being than he does about being an athlete.

- He says foreign athletes have taught him to respect his opponents. “Even though you play to win during the match, you commend your opponent for a good fight once the match ends. You sincerely respect your opponent even if you lose.”

I am really bored of this stuff. I am not half of nothing, you are not half of nothing, i am "one", you are "one", everyone is "one". If we still continue referring as us as "half" we will remain half forever.

Someone around me is starting to say: "Ohh now Japan in sport is more better with all these powerful "half".

Really? Is this the goal?

So.. my mum as japanese is weak and my father as stranger is stronger? is this the fact?

Fantastic is a genetic selection, like breed dogs, like crops, wow i am a plant.
