And yet, The only country, South Korea is eager to broadcast it calling it radioactive flowers.

"In fact, some residents of the area complained that holding the Olympics distracted time and resources from the recovery".
Only some? You sure about that chief?

There's always a case for caution. But the honey in question had about one tenth of the radioactive limit used in Germany.

Takeshima on the map, Fukushima Foods in the village, Bouquets, .... Isn't it enough already?
Why didn't you simply boycott? Just shut the hck up and go home

Wow this website has some of the most negative comments I've seen in a while (besides YouTube).

Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus), I cultivate in my own garden.

Some Korean media (again) nitpick anything and propagate anti-Japanese prejudice over Fukushima "contaminated" flowers. Hope this article above is countervailing to maintain reason. Other than that, it's a beautiful story.

Shouldn’t have revealed that. Now some medalists from certain countries might deny receiving the beautiful flowers or even panicking around and checking with a Geiger counter. lol

Is the picture an example of social distancing at the Tokyo Olympics….?

Chernobyl is a city. Fukushima is a prefecture. I think there's a difference. After the Three Mile Island incident, would you have taken bottled water from Harrisburg? What about from Dauphin County? What about from Pennsylvania? Best to get your bearings.

Given a recent report in the Japanese media of excess radioactive material found in honey from the region, perhaps there is a basis of at least caution.

"please come for visit but dont day forever because you break the rule and spoil the air of our weather and you are a fat fool not clever so take your gaijin garbage and disappear into the nether."
The truth hurts, me knows.

It's just a bunch of weeds, no need to get ones knickers twisted over it. No one except a few patriotic AH, give a crap about where these weeds come from nor the deeeeeep meaning behind them.

Grow a sunflower, view every day, they bring a smile.
They will not solve the issues surrounding this Games and pandemic.
it's is a bliss moment. the flower in the breeze, in the winners hand waves, is well, I got here, I won, at all odds.
OK I believe, and will continue to worry that these 2020 games will have serious consciences to Japan health system.
I can't turn off the TV

These Olympics should be about the athletes (never mind covid for awhile). Do any of the athletes or spectators around the world know or care about the origin of these flowers?
I don't buy the vegetables from Fukushima in the supermarkets here, which are always at a considerable discount. If someone said they were bringing over a bouquet of flowers from Iwate, Fukushima, and Miyagi I would think they were kidding.
At the Winter Olympics in Sochi, would anyone have raised an eyebrow if the bottled water supplied to the athletes came from Chernobyl?

That is a huge stretch

I thought two meters was proper for social distancing. Do Japanese people know what social means? Quite interesting making phrases or using borrowed phrases that have no meaning.

They get thrown in the bin! For gods sake can’t take them home, they die just some weird thing. Happened to me many times “thank you?” Straight in the bin, what the hell am I going to go with a posies. Braid my hair?

Oh yeah, the whole Olympics was to be based on the Fabulous Fukushima Recovery.
I help with it by buying their peaches. Best in the world.
