Nobody needs to see it, and nobody here wants it. Shut up Suga.

Suga says world needs to see Japan can stage safe Olympics

Only Japan can't stage safe Olympics in the middle of a pandemic. NO ONE can you idiot!

“They will admire the Japanese people for what they achieved,” Bach said,

They won't admire the people for anything. The world pretty much thinks Japan is foolish for holding the games.

insisting the games will send a message of peace, solidarity and resilience.

Lets see. The games are being held against the will of the majority of the people here, Foreign visitors are still not allowed in Japan. No domestic fans either. The athletes are pretty much locked in their Olympic village.

peace, solidarity? I think not.

and resilience- well yes. the resilience of the Japanese people to put up with YOU- a foreigner who is profiting an event that will infect and kill ALOT of people. They definitely have resilience there. We all do.

Look Bach. You got your Olympics. You're getting paid you SNAKE. STOP rubbing our noses into it, and stop adding insult to injury. We are not stupid.

... after a long tunnel an exit is now in our sight,” Suga said.

We all hope that refers your upcoming exit stage right in September.

Canceling the Olympics was never an option, Bach said, because “the IOC never abandons the athletes.”

“... the IOC never abandons the trough.”

There, fixed it.

“But vaccination has started and after a long tunnel an exit is now in our sight,” Suga said.

Uh-huh. I just scanned my coupon (as I am, due to my age group, finally able to apply) and the message I got was “we are not currently taking applications”. In other words, “we’re outta vaccine, tough luck”.

39 ( +42 / -3 )

“We will protect the health and security of the Japanese public.”

How about subsidies and lack of restrictions for antibody and PCR tests then PM Suga?

23 ( +25 / -2 )

No it can’t. And the worlds to see that it can’t.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

“But vaccination has started and after a long tunnel an exit is now in our sight,” Suga said.

What exit? Some people haven't even started this journey yet, fool!

Suga says world needs to see Japan can stage safe Olympics

No Suga. The world will see the arrogance, corruption, and selfishness of Bach, the IOC, and the Japanese government. They will also see that most people here don't want the Olympics, along with the high COVID rate, and the empty seats just go to show that. They will also hear from the people of Japan, the reality, rather than propaganda.

23 ( +26 / -3 )

All the world will see, sadly, is a smoking trainwreck.

21 ( +23 / -2 )

What Suga thinks the world needs to see and what the world is seeing are a tad different.

Suga says world needs to see Japan can stage safe Olympics

They should've just prove it by action without the need to talk about it.

Organizers of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics said Tuesday that a foreign athlete at the athletes' village and eight other people related to the games have newly tested positive for the coronavirus.

I believe you Sugo the Suggoi wise man.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

The world already saw the mess that this all is/was.

IOC and japanese government not with a good international image these days, that is for sure.

Pure gold ^^

Bing Bong...News: 1387 in Tokyo for infections today of course is 3 days back, but kids. 1387!

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Suga hopes his own delusion creates a grande illusion.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

That light you see at the end of the tunnel…that’s an oncoming train. Run you, sorry shuffle, shuffle you ignoramus.

Quoting "Some dude"

Uh-huh. I just scanned my coupon (as I am, due to my age group, finally able to apply) and the message I got was “we are not currently taking applications”. In other words, “we’re outta vaccine, tough luck”.

Why would a person vote this down when it is a statement of fact?

10 ( +16 / -6 )

Hey Suga!!!! 1387 in Tokyo today

13 ( +17 / -4 )

“Canceling the Olympics was never an option, Bach said, because “the IOC never abandons the athletes.”

Just the people of Japan who paid taxes for this farce.

Beats me. I guess we have a clique of weeaboos on here who won’t hear a single negative thing about Japan.

13 ( +17 / -4 )

Well put prime minister, I have total faith in him and the IOC.

-23 ( +1 / -24 )

Since last September, conceited PM Suga had talked many "goal" such as "defend the lives and livelihood of Japanese population" "improve situation by a month" "never use the state of emergency again" about responding Covid-19 but could realize nothing.

Even acceleration of vaccination had fallen into slow down soon.

in many cases, his words cause reverse results.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

What the world needs to see is reality. A dull reality in which Japan is a country with many flaws just like any other one. It's been long overdue and this might be an opportunity.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Dont understand which alternate world these people live -

Suga says "world needs to see Japan can stage safe Olympics"

Koike says and promotes Tokyo culture for Tourists for Olympics when all foreigners are banned to enter Japan?

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Hey Suga

That horse already left the barn

Every article I have read from overseas sources thinks the Japanese Government and IOC are wrong for forcing this down the throats of Japanese citizens and residents.

The actions you are taking are indicitive of the fact that you do not care about the Japanese citizens. Why can you not stand up to the IOC and protect your own citizens?!?!

The words spoken mimic what Coates said "We will hold the Olympics even if there is a State of Emergency"

Again it appears the IOC is in charge of Japan and not the Japanese government.

Canceling the Olympics was never an option, Bach said, because “the IOC never abandons the athletes.”

Canceling the Olympics was never an option, Bach said, because “the IOC never abandons the money.”

There you go, fixed it for you.

Canceling the Olympics was never an option, Bach said, because “the IOC never abandons the athletes.”

Because then you'd have return $4b to your partner NBC, wouldn't you. How much you pay the athletes who earn you all this money, anyway?

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Actually, my friends and family in Japan think that the government is being very foolish for putting everyone’s lives in danger. Good job, Suga. You the opposite result, instead. This will forever make Japan look bad.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

“But vaccination has started and after a long tunnel an exit is now in our sight,” Suga said.

Our city of around 250,000 has advised the central mass vaccination site will only be open 2 days a week. They are only able to do 510 vaccinations a day. The tunnel is a long one.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Canceling the Olympics was never an option, Bach said, because “the IOC never abandons the athletes.”

But the IOC is sure willing to abandon and even inflict harm on the host nation.

@Alfie stated it correctly. The IOC will never abandon a bag full of cash or any other form of renumeration be it above the table or below the table. This has been proven (indisputible actually)

6 ( +6 / -0 )

No No No!

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga must own these Olympic Games, Japans Games, with all the warts and risks. It is all or nothing.

Suga must shut Bach and Coates out, if necessary frog march both to the airport. And gone.

These Games must be focused on the people of Japan willingness, acceptance, presentation and most importantly risk of the contagion.

It goes ahead on Japan terms. Its Government, Its People

If not, it is over, wrap all the athletics up, support staff and shut it down.

Deal with the aftermath in time.

Suga is PM, Bach and Coates are well, zero entities in the throws of this pandemic.

Lead, don't take orders.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

The world needs an immediate cancellation of that virus super spreading event. And Japan needs, yes you guess it, him stepping down or away.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I love how they grasp at an irrational explanation when they are pushed to the edge of reality. I wish I could vote for Suga this September --just to keep the laughs coming.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

World will see Japan fail

6 ( +6 / -0 )

I had to do a double take to make sure this wasn’t from The Rising Wasabi. This HAS to be a joke

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The PM ludicrous. In his power tipped mind, everyone must indeed check out how cool Japan is that we are tougher than all of ya that we got it perfect and can house a world event during a pandemic. Not so cool.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

the virus is not going to care what you think though

This whole Olympics SNAFU just gets worse:

This article is headlined -

Suga says world needs to see Japan can stage safe Olympics

and the next article is headlined -

Tokyo reports 1,387 new coronavirus cases

If I wasn't sitting here right in the middle of this rolling fiasco I would have trouble believing it.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

What a sad and pathetic statement.

The world doesn't care about the Olympics and the world doesn't care about Japan.

It certainly doesn't need to see a G7 country bankrupting itself to stage an event that no reasonable-minded person actually wants or thinks its a good idea. The world wants to see the end of Covid19 and this super-spreader event is not helping.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

This whole Olympics SNAFU just gets worse:

I remember a few weeks back when everyone was ragging on the games and the mods actually inserted a comment, something like “please do not say that you hope the games fail, it is very spiteful”.

Looks like we don’t need to actively wish for that outcome any more. It’s heading that way under its own power.

The chaos, confusion and mismanagement at Narita airport is breathtaking...

Most people neglect that a covid outbreak is only one of the things that can go horribly wrong at the olympics.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I have total faith in him and the IOC.

Why?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Bored of it all now.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

The world needs to see that Japan can follow the science and help bring an end to the Corona virus.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

They can't see something that is not there, unless you are Doug Henning or David Copperfield.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Beautifully positioned by Japan Today just above a report of 1,387 new cases of coronavirus in Tokyo.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Suga

Are we a democracy?

If so, then I say no, the World doesn’t need to see the Olympic Village full of infections.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

What a  chaotic start.

Rather than two guys being responsible look at the machinery at work here.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

You know, where J Cabinet, J politicians fail, they never speak from the heart.

They are collectively unwilling to take responsibility.

The factionalized Government structure exasperates the malaise, creating a ever decreasing circle of mediocrity in government.

Look deep bows Grandpa cannot in the 21st century run Government.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Seriously?

I will definitely NOT vote for him in the next election. NEVER

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Listened to his speech. Just on auto-pilot. He is one hell of a human tape recorder, this guy. Just can't say anything original or tailor his talk to a particular situation.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Some dude

“But vaccination has started and after a long tunnel an exit is now in our sight,” Suga said.

Uh-huh. I just scanned my coupon (as I am, due to my age group, finally able to apply) and the message I got was “we are not currently taking applications”. In other words, “we’re outta vaccine, tough luck”.

You are welcome to take mine , I have declined mine, I can offer you my spot if you want.

I am not going to be an experiment , I would rather take my chances at 65 years old and a 98% recovery rate than try some experimental un proven holy water juice make believe thing.

You have to be scared stupid to want to take the jab when no one knows the outcome and fully vaccinated people are still contracting this virus, its all smoke and mirrors, or control the masses who are silly enough to fall for the scare the bejeesus out of them............to want to take the jab that isnt even proven or tested properly.

I dont need no vaccine passport as I have no intention of traveling so why in the hell would I want to take the experiment?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Too late Suga, its already no longer safe.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Suga, get a reality check, it is not what you think! You and IOC are spinning this in to success story, but in fact it is a failure!!!

The 2021 Olympics Are Turning Into a $20 Billion Bust for Japan

Host nation expected an economic windfall and global recognition. But amid pandemic, a disgruntled populace just wants it all to go away.

I'm sure Suga is still in his dream bubble away from reality. Here's some proof.

Best wishes for a wonderful Olympics!

The Japanese are blessed with fearless minds. They are known for their perseverance, work ethic, hospitality, and never-say-die spirit. The world has a lot to learn from the dynamic people from the Land of the Rising Sun.
