Caster's case is quite interesting, she has the rare condition of Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. She appears female externally but has no uterus. She does however have internal testes producing testosterone. Her argument is that she is natural and isn't cheating. World Athletics says her testes give her an unfair advantage so she must lower her testosterone levels to compete. I can genuinely agree with both sides in this case, the judgement in court will probably result in changes in how the IOC recognize male and female athletes.

cracaphat...... She hasn't done anything, except be born without female internal parts, instead having internal testes producing male levels of testosterone. So not really a "pure" female. I have a lot of sympathy for her case but also for her competitors who are "pure" women. The solution of lowering her testosterone levels was probably a fair solution.

Pure or not, having a baby may be at least problematic, with AIS she lacks ovaries, fallopian tubes and a uterus.

Genetically, a woman is someone whose cells have two x chromosomes, while males have one x and one y. Semenya has one x and one y chromosome and so should compete with those who also have one x and one y. Anything else is manifestly unfair to women, who do not have the y chromosome and all the physical advantages that come with that.

I'm on the side of letting her compete without drugs. I look at her like I look at a height advantage in running. It's not fair, but the advantage is not attributed to any artificial enhancement.
