Olympic jingoism at its best....

The Olypimcs have been declining in popularity for a while. This was one of the reasons why there was so much pushback against a postponement or cancellation. They are very few countries these days who actually want to hold the Olympics.

Now with a world in the grip of the worst pandemic in decades, with thousands dying everyday, the Olympics seem shallow, insignificant and a preposterous waste of money. No heartbreak here.

JapanToday: Please remove this article. There is no need to be spreading such bad news. We need to unit to fight off the terrible virus. Not argue about how people feel about it. Postponement was the smart choice. I hope and pray that Japan will overcome this disaster and put on a great show for the world next year.

The amunt of money that has already been p!ssed away on this folly would probably have come in useful to help the Japanese people recover from the economic effects of the virus.

But no...much more important to have people running and jumping for 3 weeks so Coca-Col and McD's can soak up all the "sponsor" money.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to see the Olympics for what they are: a total waste of time, money, and other resources.

If this is the biggest problem for these people, they really need to rethink their life choices. I'm sure there are a lot bigger problems everyone should be worried about right now.
