This is her first international competition. That's just crazy.
Whenever something like that happens, I have to wonder if she is really old enough to compete. It wouldn't be the first or second time the Chinese have faked ages and provided bogus credentials for divers.

I don't blame the girls or their families if this proves to be an illegal diver. To me, she looks 9 yrs old. In my mind, this is a tentative Gold until it is proven her birthday doesn't change over the next 10 yrs.
The older Chen Yuxi has been around a bit and is an excellent diver. She 100% deserves the medal. Congratulations to all, regardless. Getting that number of 10s is unbelievable. I haven't watched the event yet (live was 2am local here).
Melissa Wu (AUS) has always been very close to medals in the individual 10M for over a decade. She has a silver from the 2008 games in 10M Synchronized diving. Congratulations to her.
I feel for the Brits and Canadians. Something about huge competitions is their kryptonite. Lois (9th) and Meghan (13th) and Celina (23th). Any of them were capable the the bronze on their best days.
