“We are grateful for this offer, which is in the true Olympic spirit of solidarity,” IOC president Thomas Bach said during an online meeting that included sports leaders and the organizing committees of future Olympics.

Wow Bach. Just when we think you couldn't sink any lower you surprise us.

“Selling OUR souls...” is a great PR move for ALL involved to help avoid future boycotts of ALL their future crap.

No one in their right mind would want to get Chinese-made vaccines. Perhaps we’re witnessing the beginning of the end of the IOC and the modern, commercialized Olympics. There’s no way the 2021 pandemic and 2022 genocide Olympics should take place.

22 ( +25 / -3 )

Why can't the IOC and the Chinese government strike a deal to vaccinate all the Japanese people? Or at least all the Japanese who will attend or work at the Olympics?

It seems the sensible thing to do considering Japan is months behind and the Olympics are only four months away.

Bach happily falling for a Chinese trap which he uses to make the Chinese leaders look humanitarian to avoid a boycott around the Uyghur people.

How much longer are people going to accept this abhorrent arrogance.

and while he invokes the” Olympic Spirit” here again , this time to praise China, nothing is further from the truth.

Absolute madness. I am completely pro-vax, and believe you should have to have a vax "passport" to travel. But NOT Chinese and Russian "vaccines" that have not undergone rigorous, multi-stage testing.

Before someone chimes in with "but...but...but Chinese/Russian vaccines are 90% effective...you are being anti-China..".etc the fact is NO data out of China or Russia can be trusted.

This will be a major issue if Japan accepts thousands of athletes coming in on a Chinese "vaccine".

If ever there has been a case of Olympic bribery so clear before, I’ve never seen it.

19 ( +23 / -4 )

Mr Noakes, I usually agree with you but not this time. Also, I don’t think Japanese people would take the China vaccine. I certainly won’t but that is beside the point which I make in my earlier post

12 ( +14 / -2 )

I’m totally against both of these Olympic events going ahead now.

13 ( +17 / -4 )

No to the experimental vaccines and no to the vaccine passport.

Those of you who are willing to trade away future generations freedoms with a Digital ID system should be ashamed of yourselves

8 ( +13 / -5 )

No way do I want anything from China. I want to live.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

China doing everything to divert people's attention away from the Uyghur genocide happening in Xinjiang to get the Olympics. They paid off the WHO, and now the IOC.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

I’m totally against both of these Olympic events going ahead now.

Tokyo definitely not, but Beijing should go ahead.

Tokyo definitely not, but Beijing should go ahead.

Come to think of it, you’re right. Nations can’t boycott if there is no event to boycott.

What's the problem all our governments do tons of business with China, we all buy tons of Chinese products, their vaccine is just as good as anyone's, most probably the best as they know the source of covid better than anyone

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Does this not go against the IOC human rights charter?

Ask people in Hong Kong, Taiwan or the thousands of Uighur camp detaineesi f they see their treatment as being in the spirit of solidarity.

Does this not go against the IOC human rights charter?

“Just look over here at our lovely pile of money”

Welcome, World! “Priority ‘vaccinations’; limited capacity air travel exclusively by JAL, plus ‘VIP seating’ for only distinguished guests & sponsors’ at all venues.” - All at taxpayer’s continued expense.

There have been three suspicious deaths in Hong Kong related to Sinovac, although two of the people did have underlying conditions. This has put HKers off. The good thing is that they have a choice of which vaccine to take - and I don't think many opted or will opt for Sinovac which, I think, as an efficacy of 50%. The CE, Lam Cheng Yuet Ngoh had no choice but to have the Sinovac shot in public and HK had to include Sinovac to save face.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

WOW just WOW!!! Even an idiot like bach has got to know this devil deal with china on vaccines is going to salt the size of cow licks into Japans wounds with regards to covid!!!

Not only is this announcement disgusting on many levels it also CLEARLY shows that BOTH these games need to cease based on covid ALONE. china of course has a LOT more reasons should NEVER have even been allowed to bid let alone hold any games!!!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

No vaccines are proven to work successfully against new variants, so by 2022, new variants will be massive. All about money only.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Disgusting and vomit worthy , Bach is blatantly showing his disregard for humanity and decency while showing how ignorant he is and what he thinks of everyone else.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

We have to admit it's a good play.

Thing is if the good guys offered this before, then the bad guy wouldnt have the opportunity to.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

@ Jeff Lee -

Beijing should go ahead.

Can you not read the room as to what is happening in the world?

Any athlete that goes to the Beijing Olympics, and any person who supports it, condones the internment and genocide of Muslims, and the incarceration of freedom-loving Hong Kongers.

Its as simple as that.

Bach is as KY as they come!

The Japanese government would never allow this.

Whatever next...

“We are grateful for this offer, which is in the true Olympic spirit of solidarity,” IOC president Thomas Bach said during an online meeting that included sports leaders and the organizing committees of future Olympics.

What the article left out was that Bach forgot to turn off his Zoom after the meeting, and was caught rolling around on the floor amid a pile of money and Xi t-shirts.

The first thing that came to my mind was there is no way in the world I would get injected with anything from China. No way.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Why on earth would anyone trust CCP vaccines?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

IOC enabling the Genocide Games. Literally criminals. Athletes should quit

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Preposterous. The deal is de facto approval of the Uiguhr genocide and other CCP-led repressions, or worse a big monetary contribution to the sale of questionable China vax (At least setting all critical points aside, the procurement should have been made thought an open bid involving other potential vax providers, not behind the door). The IOC is really corrupt.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

China is trying to buy it's way out of their wrong doings. And doing it in such an insulting way.

Additionally, should be noted that if the vaccines being offered are Sinovac (made in China), I'd personally pass. Efficacy and safety is still in question and even news media from China is reporting an abundance of fake vaccines coming from China that contain only water. Unfortunately par for the course it seems.

China's success inspires hatred, delusions and envy from all the world's losers.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Bach is a lawyer, having a vaccine available for all athletes passes liability for cancellation or postponement back to Japan.

Joe Stalin - spoken like a true Communist.

The democratic world does not trust Commie China, Russia nor their shoddy "vaccines". Totalitarian dictatorships run by murderous despots.

That's why there's so much immigration in China...

All our countries do business with China but we don't want the IOC to?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Why can't the IOC and the Chinese government strike a deal to vaccinate all the Japanese people? Or at least all the Japanese who will attend or work at the Olympics?

Oh, I'm sure China would be VERY happy to cooperate, Alfie.

(it is never a good thing to watch a man completely give in to his emotions. In fact it is very ugly)

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

AFAIK China has yet to share their clinical results on legit peer-reviewed publications

China would have to buy other countries' vaccines that's already been approved

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trust a Chinese vaccine? No way.

BTW, never trust a Chicom.
