The Olympics was fine during the time Suga was pushing for vaccinations before holding it. That means inoculation will be swift.
But then he doesn't care anymore if people are vaccinated. He's just an incompetent clown.

Just how many megalomaniacs are there in the IOC???

This genius is comparing current Corona situation with smog in 1984 at LA and Zika in 2016 - how many people had died due to these two prior to olympics compared to present day situation?
Dont you realize you sound dumb by making such statements?
You dont know first thing about present situation in Japan at ground level nor do you know that thing coming out of your backside where the sun dont shine.....(cant use more harsh words here)

The Olympics are dumb anyway. Should have been left back in the 20th Century.

the IOC ultimately retains "the power to cancel the Games."
Well said, Mr. Pound. Alll the "online petitions" will not deter the IOC from having a safe and successful summer Olympiad. The world thanks you and the IOC for your forward thinking on this issue. It is great to see the adults in the room letting everyone know who's in control. Bring on the Tokyo Olympics!!

Another retired clown making useless comments. Who paid him, I wonder?

It's called grasping at straws. I don't think anybody actually believes these dumb statements.
Right on Zoroto and we agree. The grasping at straws is ridiculous. So sad that Japan cannot get it together. And we are saddened to see so many or your good comments be erased. Makes no sense. Your thoughts make people think and that is great.

Fact is, Japan is allowing itself to be ruled by a sports organisation. how sad is that ?

So he is paying for the Olympics and not us 70% of good Japanese taxpayers because we do not want the Olympics. Am I correct???.

It's pretty cool how the Japanese government is compromising the safety of its citizens to protect the economic interests of a small global cartel.

Boku Dayo - I remember during the Atlanta Olympics Mr. Pound was given a ticket for J -walking (not crossing the street at a traffic signal) and he was one of the "Don't you know who I am!?!" crowd. That was in '96 so I can only expect the entitlement mentality to have grown.

Sure, hold the Olympics. Why not? We don't have to watch it on tv. The streets and trains won't be extra crowded during that time, because overseas spectators aren't allowed here. And we should be social distancing anyway. Go go 2020!

I feel like we are playing chicken...you know where two cars (Japan and the IOC) are charging at each other at high speed hoping that the other will swerve out of the way first. Unfortunately I think we are about to witness a head-on collision as greed is preventing either one of these idiots from getting out of the way.

Another old arrogant white Olympics male totally disconnected from the reality in Japan pushing the agenda of a authoritarian organization IOC.
Time for the weak Suga to take a stand and show he has a spine declare Japan unsafe to hold Olympics at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andrew Bluebirdnips Parsells
putting others (millions) lives at risk, no doubt for some sort of greasy palm payout.

Does Japan's government have an official mascot? If not, I'm voting for the jellyfish.

The IOC's John Coates and Richard Pound need to be prepared for international lawsuits from every Japanese family that catches COVID-19 14 days after the Olympics.

"Zika virus outbreak prior to the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro."
Zika spreads through mosquitoes and you can take precautions against mosquitoes. There is no human-to-human airborne transmission in the case of Zika. Not a proper comparison.
