"It's green and wood exterior feels like it's been there forever..."

"it's" = "it is" or "it has"

I can't help wishing there had been some advance publicity for this, so I could have at least gone and watched my money going up in smoke, instead of reading about it the day after.

How much did this hail-the-great-leader puffery cost the taxpayer?

The Olympics are nothing short of theft.

'bread and circuses' has become 'smartphones and fireworks', and fireworks, and yet more fireworks..... pity 'they' don't put the money to more constructive use..... or maybe pyrotechnic baubles for the masses IS constructive in the eyes of our rulers.....

Nice picture.

Fireworks are not cheap, and I get the appeal but really is it necessary when there is all the bitckin about finances associated with the Olympics?

Can't wait for the Tokyo Olympics to be over. And Tokyo won't get the Summer Olympics again for (hopefully) another 50+ years.

I never saw an ad for this. Wish JT had told us before the event.

And people wonder why the Olympics cost so much

Indeed, it's a beautiful picture

Let the crowds begin to swell!

Looking forward to 7 September, the day after the Paralympics finish when it'll all be over.

Most expensive Olympics ever.

True, but every olympics is always more expensive than the last. Thats inflation. But it isnt called "The greatest show on earth" for nothing. 10 Million EXTRA tourists in Japan for the 2 months, will be a massive shot in the arm to the economy. And great PR for Japan, hoping for 40 million tourists by 2030. Should be an amazing Games, watch those World Records tumble!
