Trump, what a complete loony

35 ( +78 / -43 )

Trump's opinion on sports is, like most of his opinions, completely irrelevant.

45 ( +80 / -35 )

The greatest President in US history has ir right ! If your not proud to represent your country why did compete for it ? MOVE to Cuba and see just how life is !!! Woke is a JOKE !!!!

-40 ( +45 / -85 )

Maniacs? Dear Mr Trump, please look in the mirror.

31 ( +64 / -33 )

I thought he was in jail?

27 ( +60 / -33 )

He is not wrong.

-43 ( +39 / -82 )

"The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job!"

Read an article about Trump being a master of projection, all his insults and threats are really about himself (like any good narcissist).

Who spent too much time thinking about minor culture war issues and personal threats rather than addressing his responsibilities as president, especially during the pandemic?

21 ( +42 / -21 )

"If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn't woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze. Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has," the 75-year-old said.

Being an outspoken critic of Trump and social activist has not hurt Lebron James much.

11 ( +28 / -17 )

And he's right! Man, miss this guy. Hope he can win another term, or else someone like him.

-48 ( +33 / -81 )

The ravings of a narcissistic sociopath with likely dementia.

Probably also trying desperately to shift the conversation from his attempted coup.

I have never in all my life, seen someone of more than 10 with such a desperate need for attention.

31 ( +54 / -23 )

Please oh please politics, leave sports alone. Keep taking all our money, keep making life difficult, but let us enjoy sports.

13 ( +21 / -8 )

Rapinoe can now take a knee to Canada. Call it Divine Providence if you will.

-4 ( +23 / -27 )

@Don

The greatest President in US history has ir right ! If your not proud to represent your country why did compete for it ? MOVE to Cuba and see just how life is !!! Woke is a JOKE !!!!

One of the the worst president's in US history as declared by hundreds of experts on history and not a poster on the internet is simply creating a buzz to make more money off the rubes through donations.

He first started with the debunked election fraud without spending any money on the election fraud or GOP candidates, but he has been spending the money on hisself. He has been exposed by DOJ documents that he attempted to force DOJ officials like in Georgia to "simply say the election is corrupt, and I will handle the rest."

Trump's PAC has spent no money on ballot audits as he pushes his election-fraud claims, but it has funded his flights and other personal expenses, a report says

https://www.businessinsider.com/trumps-pac-spent-no-money-proving-election-fraud-claims-report-2021-7

Now he is trying to use another well-known GOP strategy of using "fake culture wars" to sell more trump products.

Trump’s latest grift: Completely pointless membership cards

https://www.mic.com/p/trumps-latest-grift-completely-pointless-membership-cards-82740089

He needs tax-free money to funnel into his failing businesses, to maintain his lifestyle, and to retain cheap lawyers for his criminal defense.

19 ( +42 / -23 )

'Wokesters' - OK, that's kind of funny. This whole 'woke' idea sniffs badly of a judgemental superiority complex that over-inflates their sense of emotional and social IQ. The whole term and concept is condescending, and further to that, the Cancel Culture are frighteningly similar to many totalitarian mindsets that led to some of the worst episodes of humanity ever. I bet Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Joseph Stalin, Chairman Mao and Adolf H all considered themselves kind of 'woke' too....

6 ( +22 / -16 )

Gogogo, do not worry he is headed for indictment and arrest this fall in NY

4 ( +29 / -25 )

"If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn't woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze. Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has," the 75-year-old said.

Is that the reason why trump loss the election by the largest margin in US history?

Was he too woke? Or does he need to wake-up?

12 ( +33 / -21 )

Please refrain from giving Trump any media coverage. He has no real power and is a harmful influence on all humanity.

10 ( +38 / -28 )

At one point, they went undefeated 44 straight, including winning the World Cup

How does he explain that?

21 ( +39 / -18 )

Accurate statement.

-29 ( +23 / -52 )

He can say whatever he wants, he is no longer the President.

11 ( +24 / -13 )

Yep. The US team need to be more like those unpleasantly right-wing, racist, selfish Canadians, who won gold….

19 ( +31 / -12 )

YA! Put all that "wokeness ridiculousness to sleep!

-13 ( +11 / -24 )

@Tamarama

I bet Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Joseph Stalin, Chairman Mao and Adolf H all considered themselves kind of 'woke' too....

Except people like Adolf Hitler are figures worshipped by the far right!

trump is currently selling membership cards using symbols for the Third Reich just like the GOP used at their convention last year.

Proposed “trump card” design compared to images of the Nazi Third Reich-nationwide

https://eminetracanada.com/proposed-trump-card-design-compared-to-images-of-the-nazi-third-reich-nationwide/242382/

trump is the master of projection!

9 ( +20 / -11 )

He’s right. Can’t argue that much.

-34 ( +21 / -55 )

The former president, who encouraged his supporters at a rally ahead of the Tokyo Games to boo the side,

The most stupid President ever! If there was any doubt this act itself proves his stupidity! Asking his supporters to boo the national side who are representing The US…pathetic human being!

The US women’s team did their best to represent their country! Some trolls here have never done anything for the US and are just commenting like idiots! Probably the trumptards who lack any brain!

28 ( +38 / -10 )

Thats funny, taking the knee seems to be working well for the Swedish women. Trump is deluded and senile.

26 ( +37 / -11 )

Trump is correct that players politics determine how well the players perform? That is some really dumb “logic.”

7 ( +21 / -14 )

"...suggested falsely in a statement that the women had refused to stand for the national anthem during the tournament."

I don't understand, they DID kneel for the anthem, AND refused to wear their national jerseys, sporting BLM jerseys, instead. How is this wrong?

-27 ( +6 / -33 )

Good job Trump. Keep after them.

-25 ( +15 / -40 )

Trump's opinion on sports is, like most of his opinions, completely irrelevant.

As is an athlete's view on politics.

-18 ( +9 / -27 )

Give him a job.

Trump as new technical director of the USA team engaging in mind games by telling people to watch non-existent sex tapes starring the opposition. Bans for players after traces of Clorox turned up in doping tests.

Stormy Daniels as head coach.

11 ( +20 / -9 )

They are both right.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

Who is this guy?

12 ( +22 / -10 )

Haha! Spoken like a true loser. Filed for bankruptcy six times, lost money on his casino; I mean how in the hell can you lose money on a casino? It's supposed to be rigged but this guy can't even make money when it's rigged in his favor. Impeached twice, lost the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. Go on US women's soccer, y'all done good!

17 ( +28 / -11 )

Haha, he’s reduced to whining about sports people. What a total loser this moron is.

Keep sports out of politics.

14 ( +25 / -11 )

Trump can go pound sand.

14 ( +23 / -9 )

Trump is 100% on the money.

As an American, I want to see success by my teams.

As a viewer of Olympic sports, I do not want to see individualized, extreme left woke behavior.

Just play the game.

-18 ( +16 / -34 )

And so it goes. All the people saying sports and politics shouldn't mix change their opinion.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

I guess Mr. Failure didn't take a good look at the team/countries that defeated the USWNT in the last few days. They are not exactly beacons of his vision of old school nationalism in particular, and it's more than perfect that way.

Now get thrown in the iron box under the burning sun to learn some humility and especially silence, Failure.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

As a viewer of Olympic sports, I do not want to see individualized, extreme left woke behavior.

I’m surprised you feel this way.

Given America’s terrible problem with racism with police killing unarmed black people, measures need to be taken.

All of the US must do more to acknowledge the problem with racism and take practical steps to eradicate it. I know you said are in favour of taking the knee, but I think more should be done,

11 ( +20 / -9 )

I’m surprised you feel this way.

Why are you surprised?

Given America’s terrible problem with racism with police killing unarmed black people, measures need to be taken.

Isn't this article about Olympic athletes? Who says there is a terrible problem?

All of the US must do more to acknowledge the problem with racism and take practical steps to eradicate it. I know you said are in favour of taking the knee, but I think more should be done,

What do you mean by acknowledge? What is practical? Do you have a solution?

-18 ( +6 / -24 )

So in his tiny mind, winners are all rabid right-wing nationalists? He should be in a padded cell for his own safety, not to mention the rest of the world being safe from hearing his demented ramblings.

14 ( +21 / -7 )

yakyakToday  08:43 am JST

He can say whatever he wants, he is no longer the President.

You are blind. Who do you think is really in charge of the USA ? The massive sting operation to drain the swamp is not completed yet.

-18 ( +5 / -23 )

Maybe, it has nothing to do with politics and woke and PC or who loves Jesus or Zeus more.

Maybe the US team lost because, on that day, the team the US was playing against was just better overall.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

It’s been a great Olympics, nearly all the “woke” athletes lost.

-26 ( +9 / -35 )

I asked my students how they would feel if their Olympians turned their back on their flag, or ‘took a knee’ while their anthem was played, at an event abroad. They were repulsed. To have feelings of dissent is 100% normal, but to show open disrespect for your own country while abroad, makes you appear weak.

And in Rapinoe’s case:

exhibit A.

-21 ( +6 / -27 )

I was personally glad that this particular group didn’t win the gold, I don’t think they deserved it, they put politics before their country, many detest the US, as to why they still live there or want to be sponsored baffles the mind. They were pursuing social justice over unity of the nation, they made it personal and injected politics into the games and as the ratings are showing, the vast majority of Americans didn’t want to see, hear anything about it.

Rapinoe is just one of the worst Captains the US women’s soccer team has ever had and she won’t be missed by millions that tuned out the sport this Olympic cycle. She’s nowhere Mia Hamm who was a true patriot and an athlete that put her team and country first, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion, a true icon of the highest magnitude. If the women’s soccer team want to ever be on top the way they were in the past and during the glory days of Hamm, they should never inject politics into sports, that’s their undoing. It’s just karma how a few of the athletes that were so woke achieved nothing or didn’t even make a medal or qualify. You can fight and take on injustices, no problem with that, but when you start to poison the well of sports and inject politics into it, people will just overwhelmingly reject it and turn you off.

-26 ( +9 / -35 )

Angry old man doing his angry old man act for the saps

19 ( +24 / -5 )

@blue in green

Did you ask those same students "How many of them voted in the last Japanese election?" Allowing incompetent leaders to continue to run their country is another way to show a lack of respect.

Japan as a country knows a lot about looking weak abroad.

12 ( +17 / -5 )

I asked my students how they would feel if their Olympians turned their back on their flag, or ‘took a knee’ while their anthem was played, at an event abroad. They were repulsed.

(Yeah, that never happened.)

To have feelings of dissent is 100% normal, but to show open disrespect for your own country while abroad, makes you appear weak.

What makes you appear weak is equating dissent to disrespect.

Cheering when your national team loses because you don't agree with their political views is infinitely more disrespectful to your country than taking a knee, or raising your fist while you're on the podium.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

Ah man, is that idiot still talking? Just ignore him already.

21 ( +25 / -4 )

It’s been a great Olympics, nearly all the “woke” athletes lost.

@ Blacklabel - But the Swedes are taking the knee, I guess that makes them "woke" in your far-right mind?

Trump is a LOSER as are all his supporters.

22 ( +26 / -4 )

I’m surprised you feel this way.

Why are you surprised?

It’s just that on a thread about racism in Premier League football you supported players taking the knee and wearing anti-racist images. Your anti-racist views were admirably fierce. It did come across as a bit of virtue-signaling but I thought it was genuine.

I’m just thought your tirade here was a big incongruous.

Isn't this article about Olympic athletes? Who says there is a terrible problem?

Dead black people killed by police and their grieving families seem to indicate a terrible problem. The measures taken by the Olympic athletes here are partly in response to that. Very relevant.

I think you need to do more to acknowledge the problem. Getting defensive doesn’t help.

Admit there is a problem. That is the first step. We previously discussed how progressive America is leading the charge on this, but everyone needs to be on board.

What is practical?

We discussed this before. Your idea of taking the knee and wearing anti-racist images and messages is okay but doesn’t cut it. I think one practical step is education. I know progressive America ( the standard you used in our previous discussion ) is in favour of more robust education on this. The idea of reparations appeals to me, but as a practical man, I’m not sure how it could be implemented. I could be persuaded with a fair argument.

As for a solution, we need to approach this in a variety of ways. I like your idea of ‘woke’ gestures to a point, but more needs to be done.

12 ( +17 / -5 )

Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad

Sez the master of projection, Amerika's 45th national zero. So reverse translating for those incapable of seeing through this transparent empty suit and for whom the yet-to-be-indicted patriot poseur remains a riddle wrapped in a flag inside a cheeseburger we can understand what the self-hating gaslighter really means: Trump means you lose, everything that is Trump goes bad.

14 ( +18 / -4 )

Jimizo: Great posts. I admire how you politely remind people of their inconsistencies and ask them to explain those inconsistencies. It allows all of us a fuller understanding of various posts.

Thanks.

Why does Trump keep calling press conferences? It's like he can't let go.

Right, @Blacklabel?

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Come on people, if this doesn't convince you Trump is manipulating you so he can fleece more money out of your bank accounts then nothing will.

Everything is a part of the culture war...Coke, MLB, now Olympic soccer...

Keep them angry, feeling victimized, and bamboozled and they'll continue to send you money - money you claimed you would use to promote MAGA candidates and values but that you haven't touched - to use to pay for your lawyers and fines....

12 ( +16 / -4 )

I don't understand, they DID kneel for the anthem, AND refused to wear their national jerseys, sporting BLM jerseys, instead. How is this wrong?

Not during the Olympics; that’s what’s wrong with your post.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Any of those women could kick his fat keester from here to Florida, and I'd pay good money to see them do it.

14 ( +18 / -4 )

Hey Trump people! Did you get the "0ffical" Trump card yet? If you don't it means you are Hillary Left Liberals. Pay money to Trump then carry his card with you to Save America. Next Trump is going to want his people to get a tattoo of him. Remember only Trump and even if he dies then still only Trump.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

In any other sporting event I’d care less. The Olympics however has always been a shining beacon for unity, togetherness, and void of the racial division the left continually boast as their platform. When you kneel at the Olympics, in addition to representing yourself and team, you represent your country. If you don’t agree with said country, why in the world would you represent them in the first place. Why stop at taking a knee? Why not truly put your $ where your mouth is and boycott anything in America altogether. I mean, if it’s so bad, why not immigrate elsewhere? Perhaps somewhere that fully aligns and supports your ideals? Oh right, that’s because you revel in the fact that you even have the ability to voice your opinions freely without reservations or regret because you live in a country that provides you with the very right to do so. Then you allow your overwhelming sense of self importance to ignorantly throw a meaningless, obnoxious action that accomplishes nothing but actually creates more dissent and division. It’s the ultimate sign of disrespect and insult. (Yes my opinion).

Trump is usually obnoxious and full of hot air, but maybe he’s right in this instance. If you put as much effort in the game as you do your social agendas and political ideals the outcome may have been different.

The Olympics is supposed to be place of unity, and pure unadulterated competition, giving the world the ultimate display of human abilities as well as giving us the best humanity currently has to offer. All I’m saying is can’t you put your stuff on hold for a few weeks every four years? Is that too much to ask? Same could be said for Trump too to be honest. Many of us just want a small break from the first world drama is all.

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

US is rife with racial shootings

Yes Dylan Roof & Patrick Wood Crusius. They are Trump people. Crusius was defending the border from the Mexicans as Trump had ordered him to do so. Those are 100% pure Trump people

4 ( +8 / -4 )

President Trump is right again.

Some of US athletes are an utter disgrace. Pathetic virtue signalers.

-18 ( +5 / -23 )

The Olympics however has always been a shining beacon for unity, togetherness, and void of the racial division

You really need to open up a history book.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

If it is your inclination to root against a team based on their political or social leanings

Trump would rather have Russians win than the US women's soccer team

If you put as much effort in the game as you do your social agendas and political ideals the outcome may have been different.

They won a Medal. What's the problem? Trump's only effort is eating double cheeseburgers and Big Gulp colas

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Trimp complaining that someone didn't do their job? That's would be funny if there weren't 500K deaths under his watch for not doing his job. All he had to do was listen to the CDC and infectious disease experts, then get out of the way. He decided to push bogus cures, make lots of bogus claims that he new were false (which is on the record and on tape recorded interviews), then tried to say that vaccination was bad though he and his wife were both quietly vaccinated. His anti-vaccine words were a terrible thing for the world. Other nationalistic leaders picked up that message and caused hundreds of thousands of more deaths than necessary.

When he shut up the experts, that's when I stopped listening to Crump.

Giving 50+% of Americans ...$4000 (or however much it was) probably wasn't a great idea. The money should have gone to the people truly in need. People who didn't lose a job or take a pay cut really shouldn't have gotten anything. A "need" test should have been involved. A single adult earning $70+K/yr in Texas didn't need any help, for example, but the phase out was $99K/yr. In places with higher cost of living, the amounts were basically 1.5 months of rent. For me, the amounts covered 1.5 months of health care insurance payments, not housing, not food, not anything mandatory to stay alive.

I will give him credit for purchasing 3+ different vaccines from different providers and putting the US Military in charge early on. He deserves credit for that.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

Megan Rapinoe is a noted athlete, and talented footballer.

Megan Rapinoe, the activist/politician, is toe curling incompetent.

insistence on using stadia, sport platform to leverage a clear political agenda could ultimately backfire.

Of course Donald Trump had to get his two pennies worth in, with his customary sledge hammer delivery.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

He is a noted football expert. And a political genus

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

He deserves credit for that.

For some reason anti vaxxers are still mostly Trump people. Also his promotion of injecting Mr. Clean to fight covid-19 didn't help. If Hillary has been president deaths would have been lower because she believes in Science

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Sport just needs to be kept as sport. That is a 2 way street, athletes can keep their political opinions off the field and politicians can stay away from sport. All this BS just makes me not watch it anymore.

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

It's all about character folks, just like MLK said. Something that the political left has a hard time understanding.

Back when the US wonen's soccer team won the most recent world cup, rapinoe gave a speech upon returning to the US in which she was making political statements and dropping f bombs in front of little children. Hardly a role model.

No, it’s absolutely not because I love my country, I just despise the people that despise it ans want to turn their personal selfish crusade into something that overwhelmingly the majority of Americans don’t care about at that particular time.

There is a time and place for politics and sports shouldn’t be one of them. Make your case later. These women chose to make it on the field and they’re surprised by all the hate Mail? Seriously? Give me a break!

That's true of the former guy, and it's true of those on this thread who agree with him.

And exactly how many Olympic medals has Trump ever earned again, so he might have a basis to fuss about?

9 ( +14 / -5 )

Megan Rapinoe is a true voice and hero. I love her great ability to live life as it is for her, voice her platform, and bother idiots like Donald Trump.

GOP and conservatives are anal retentive jerks who will never be open to people, environment and the best of humanity, it's all money for them, just like Donald.

He's a flea of humanity when he cries about Rapinoe, his big nemesis, because she's real and he's so disingenuous. What small hands he has, they can't handle the squeamish world. lol.

8 ( +15 / -7 )

They didn't lose because they were woke or gay. They lost because they got old. It happens..... USA should have sent a younger, more athletic, if slightly less-experienced team.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Sport and politics are a incendiary mix. Creating division instead of unity inspired by the awe, for the necessary hard work, devotion, sacrifice needed to achieve such greatness.

Politics devours everything it comes into contact with.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

No, it’s absolutely not because I love my country,

You obviously don't.

I just despise the people that despise it

Equating dissent with hate and stifling criticism is another form of rabid anti-patriotism.

There is a time and place for politics and sports shouldn’t be one of them.

Everything is political. Sports too.

These women chose to make it on the field and they’re surprised by all the hate Mail?

They're not surprised the very vocal minority is very vocal. That's what it's known for after all. Being loud and dumb. But unfortunately for that very vocal minority... Most of America still supports Rapinoe, Lebron, or any other sports figure conservatives consider "woke".

8 ( +13 / -5 )

No, it’s absolutely not because I love my country,

Living in Japan? There are no guns here. Also, there is net neutrality. Also, there is government healthcare. Japan is not a Texas Christian country and they allow abortions. Why would a Trump person live in Japan? They have to leave their guns in the USA.

Someone please lock him up!!!

6 ( +11 / -5 )

What a blow hard, ex president. Who has never won anything, he lost the popular vote in both elections and was impeached twice. His opinion means nothing.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

One fact/aspect that both Megan Rapinoe and Donald Trump have in common, neither can be remotely mistaken for politicians.

Donald Trump never pretended to be in the first place, Megan Rapinoe has convinced herself she is.

This opinion piece from 2019 cites polls. We know polls aren’t accurate because nobody asked me, my family, or any of my friends.

Yes, it does and here is the lastest fresh off the press statements.

Did you ask those same students "How many of them voted in the last Japanese election?" Allowing incompetent leaders to continue to run their country is another way to show a lack of respect.

To ask such a question invades their privacy, and is none of my business.

Japan as a country knows a lot about looking weak abroad.

What a sad comment.

I rarely see Japanese standing in defiance, in contempt of their country, in an event

sponsored by their country. After all, they have the choice, as do all athletes,

to decline participation, if their feelings are this strong.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

I love this. These athletes are probably stoked... probably can't believe their luck... to have their protest amplified like this. Seriously, before Trump spoke most of us probably never paid much attention. Now though, the whole world can once again see the level of intolerance they are standing against. Good for them!!

Neither of these links support the assertion they the majority of Americans don’t care about the politics of American Olympic athletes.

People should really read the links they post before using the links to support their assertions, especially when the links don’t support their assertions at all.

Everybody has a right to voice there opinion, that's democracy,

The difficulties begin when sport hero's use their platform, significantly, inside an arena to pursue a means to a political end.

Governments will sense a clear opportunity to hijack and take advantage to create a stream for political campaigning.

Megan Rapinoe could well have her heart in the right place, but Rapinoe has no comprehension of the duplicity of the political arena, eats you up and spits you out.

Politics is not a sport there are few recognizable rules

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

President Trump, the greatest President there has ever been. He is so right in his comments. I can't wait until 2024 when he will once again be our wonderful President.

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

It's great to see such a small protest have such a powerful effect. All these people protesting against lockdowns must be gutted. Fantastic.

Ah, it is lovely to wake up in the morning and see The Donald continue to dominate the space here. He is showing his prowess in the real estate market by continuing to live rent-free in the souls of so many people here.

Then you should be ecstatic since he'll soon be living rent free at Rikers Island serving 3-5 for tax and insurance fraud....sharing a cell with his CEO Weisellberg....

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Megan Rapinoe is a true voice and hero. I love her great ability to live life as it is for her, voice her platform, and bother idiots like Donald Trump.

I don't disagree with you, in a sports (private) setting.

Her lifestyle is no issue to me, in the least.

But on an "American team" (sponsored by USA), and as captain go against your COO,

it creates division, and is just not intelligent.

In Tour de France, all entrants wear their colors, with pride,

and that is a private event!

GOP and conservatives are anal retentive jerks who will never be open to people, environment and the best of humanity, it's all money for them, just like Donald.

The best of humanity?

Do you consider yourself a judge of that?

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Donald who?

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Ah man, is that idiot still talking? Just ignore him already.

Like you are doing?

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

From what I read, Rapinoe isn't terribly well known in the US. Half of people have never heard of her, and the rest are equally divided into favourable and unfavourable. So she and Trump can happily snipe at each other as they have been doing for the past couple of years.

As for the whole "take a knee" thing, I think it is trite and shallow no matter who does it. The ultimate virtue signal, along with posting on Instagram holding up a hand made sign with a message a la Michelle Obama.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

it creates division, and is just not intelligent.

They have won the last two World Cups and went 44 games undefeated. Sounds like quite a unified team to me. Trump could learn a thing or two from them about 'winning', since he specializes in 'losing'.

In Tour de France, all entrants wear their colors, with pride

How do they wear clothes with pride, or not with pride, and how can you tell?

Yeah, they do, look at the ratings or are you saying, everyone was busy at the office? Lol

People should really read the links

Yes, they should, including liberals

No they don’t.

Back when the US wonen's soccer team won the most recent world cup, rapinoe gave a speech upon returning to the US in which she was making political statements and dropping f bombs in front of little children. Hardly a role model.

Looks like you go with the idea of public figures having a responsibility to set standards and lead by example.

It’s a defensible viewpoint.

When Trump was in office, some of his defenders often argued they knew what he was, but could excuse it as long as he got the job done. Seeing as you don’t fall into this camp, you must have decried Trump’s conduct.

Anything less would come across as hypocritical.

I completely agree, she’s not and hopefully she will retire soon. She needs to go, the women’s soccer team and their fans deserve better.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

What makes you appear weak is equating dissent to disrespect.

I haven't done that.

To have dissent is common, every single person has issues with their government.

The difference is, in a team, representing the country you live in, instead of drawing on the strengths you all uniquely have, and uniting to be the best, there was personal weakness,

at the helm.

Cheering when your national team loses because you don't agree with their political views is infinitely more disrespectful to your country than taking a knee, or raising your fist while you're on the podium.

Whose cheering?

I didn't even watch the Olympics. Do you mean POTUS by making a statement?

I don't believe he is cheering for the teams loss.

It was a disappointment, a wasted opportunity;

instead of USA team aligning together to be a force, this woman as captain made it about her,

and parading her beliefs, which might/could have cost them the gold.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Instead of the media obsessing on the radical leftist athletes they should instead focus their attention on positive role midels such as female American wrestler Mensah-Stock.

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/olympic-gold-medalist-wrestler-tamyra-mensah-stock-i-love-representing-the-us

She radiates nothig but good vibes and positivity.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

JT - Honestly, why give this loser a big photo and any airtime at all. He's a big attention loving troll trying to regain relevance. Just ignore him.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

A true warrior wouldn't come to the Olympics in the first place as the country hosting them is climbing up the Covid charts. The best way to show you are against the U.S. injustices is boycotting the Olympics period instead of playing with the country's flag on your chest. I guess whatever it takes for people to forget the captain's racist tweet against Asians in the past.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The women’s US team have been excellent for a long time and lost after outplaying Canada but losing on a very dodgy penalty.

That’s tournament football. Anyone who watched the Euros saw Spain outplay Italy but lose the game. I’m sure most Italians would agree. Sometimes it’s just one of those days.

Could someone point out when the wokism reached critical mass and affected performance? Was it against Canada?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

In all seriousness, it utterly boggles my mind as to why anyone would think badly or poorly of anyone or anything positive like wrestler Mesah-Stock.

It really epitomizes the leftist minda

set. They hate anyone or anything good. What a sad existence.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

You are blind. Who do you think is really in charge of the USA ? The massive sting operation to drain the swamp is not completed yet.

Please tell us.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

anything positive like wrestler Mesah-Stock.

First Black woman to ever win Olympic Gold. Usually the U.S. media eats this type of story up. However she immediately said after winning that she loves the country and loves representing the flag. That was a huge no-no and the only thing that matters is the Bronze medal that the woman's soccer team won.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Can someone explain to me why this is in the "top news" section?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

In wrestling I mean above.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Hankb: I can give you 120 plus reasons why the former President is on this site. He drives views and content! He is a money maker for any media outlet such as this one. A Trump headline is a guarantee of at least 100 comments, thousands of eyeballs, and so on. Japan Today should thank him for the boost!

Just look at what has happened to many of the cable news channels in the US now that they are not running 24 hour hate-a-thons about The Donald. Their ratings have tanked.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Trump couldn't even guarantee himself a second period and he still has some tax issues to be worried with. I congratulate trump for being a donkey.

”woke” and “cancel culture” are right wing propaganda buzzwords to oppress anyone that questions white nationalism.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

They have won the last two World Cups and went 44 games undefeated. Sounds like quite a unified team to me.

No one is doubting that.

But in the Olympics, unity was sacrificed for the vanity of the captain.

How do they wear clothes with pride, or not with pride, and how can you tell?

I spoke of colors. It's an expression used to describe your countries flag;

worn as an emblem, a banner, or the same colors in a design, used to distinguish an athlete's COO.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

”woke” and “cancel culture” are right wing propaganda buzzwords to oppress anyone that questions white nationalism.

No, it means, look at us, we just want special attention because we’re not getting enough. These women and a lot of these athletes are whiny opportunists that hate their country, but would never say no to the money, try that in China and watch how they deal with it.

-10 ( +6 / -16 )

They won an Olympic medal and trump lost the election by one of the biggest spreads in recent history.

Trump is cursed with typical loser mindset.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

The unchanged jerk!

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Enthusiastic congratulations to Tamyra Mensah-Stock!

rereading the article, funny enough; can’t find any reference to her.

imagine that! Why wouldn’t an article about Trump going out of his way to call the bronze medalists losers who failed him and the good Real Americans say nice things about Tamyra?

the word for this, Randy and Nommy, is disingenuous

4 ( +5 / -1 )

”woke” and “cancel culture” are right wing propaganda buzzwords to oppress anyone that questions white nationalism.

Always and forever playing the victim, the left is especially when the left are the aggressors.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

The difference is, in a team, representing the country you live in, instead of drawing on the strengths you all uniquely have, and uniting to be the best, there was personal weakness,

And Megan Rapinoe has proudly led her team to several trophies, all the while voicing her opinions for years. So what's different now? Nothing.

Accusing a person who actually made the incredible effort of training everyday in order to wear the uniform of her country is absolutely ludicrous. The women in USA's soccer team have made more for America than 99% of the rest of the population. If they hated their country, they wouldn't play for it. They would get another nationality and play for another country, which is perfectly doable in their field.

Whose cheering?

The conservatives are gleefully cheering. You have several examples in this thread only.

I don't believe he is cheering for the teams loss.

He actually did, literally.
