Can't believe an over-the-counter drug is considered doping lol

More of the same from Russians. It isn't like these substances are hidden.
There are lots of OTC medicines which enhance athletic abilities. I use OTC Pseudafed a few times a year it works to relieve my symptoms. In parts of Asia, that is a controlled substance. It is on the banned substance list for Olympic-bound competitors. Some foods are also on the list.

Unfortunately, for many Russian athletes, cheating and winning is more important than competing fairly.

I'm sure, at some point, drinking a Red Bull will get you banned from the Olympics.

Just make 3rd type of games, so we will have: Olympics, Paralympics and Druglympics. While the first two are basically boring pish, the third one will be smashing. Lots of world records will be broken in the first year.

No patience, those guys. Could have got all medication and even everything more of their wishes in the restriction free ‘bubble’ village. lol

It's actually more state organized cheating

At this point the Russian cheating is the fault of the rest of the world for letting them continue to participate even with the knowledge that they will always cheat.

In 2008, swimming saw a new swimsuit come on the scene. Everyone who had the money for the very expensive suite was setting new records. Lots of new records (25 or 98%) were set until the federation banned those suits (NASA designed LZR racer) and setup limits to prevent them from being used again. Basically is was just like NASCAR has engine horsepower limits. The goal was to make the races as competitive as possible, not just about technology and funding.
In 2010, a competitor to the LZR was part of another jump in records. FINA modified the swimsuit rules to require "woven fabrics" and banned zippers and put limitation on how much of a body could be covered for both men and women.
