Agree with Zoroto and as i explained, even at the best of times these volunteers, all good will respected, cause more trouble and cost for an organiser than they help.

but the point is, what is left of the games? I can make a full and unbreakable argumentation to postpone till 2022 but greed and self interest of a few will kill many.

and by the way, there is another manor problem. The rino virus is currently killing tens and tens of jumping horses. Shall be bring that into Japan also ?

not a word in the press here and neither about the more than 20 athletes who got the virus at the recent European indoor athletic championships.

No foreign volunteers. Excellent. Keep whittling away. Digital media companies and the like will turn a profit as the 'games' are only available abroad on media platforms. This will be a dismal event reflecting the impacts of a pandemic. Professional athletics are in full swing in the wealthier countries, same with corporate sponsored athletes and will provide further, unfair advantages.

The approximate 8,000 volunteers from abroad would have presented myriad problems, as it would be difficult to contain their interactions with the public at large.

Great Classic Nihongo move by Japan. This unforgettable Olympic will be the classic nostalgic event in the history. People will have fun watching together on their couch just like in the 50s/60s, and this time with bigger T.V. Well, just dont fight with the remote control.

The Olympic con job is becoming apparent...

There is some misinformation here. All foreign volunteers are not banned. As noted in the article, volunteers from abroad (eg foreigners who do not reside within Japan).

While roughly 12% *precovid numbers are non Japanese volunteers. The number of non resident foreign volunteers is actually much smaller than 8000. The public data published on non-Japanese volunteers does not distinguish between resident foreigners and non resident foreigners. The larger group being Japan based rather than based abroad.

But aside, why do we need volunteers who can speak minority languages if there won't be foreign visitors?

Volunteers don't just work with visitors, there are many behind the scenes working with staff, organizers, translators for athletes etc.

So, no foreigners from abroad (likely domestic, either), vaccinated or not, unless they are rich sponsors -- because it's all about safety! They are allowed in to the land furthest behind in vaccinating, as are athletes even if not vaccinated, and returnees who do not vaccinate, despite coming from infected areas. Makes about as much sense as most here.
