The whole Olympic ideal is dead. It's only a money making machine for the top and only serves as a way to stir up nationalistic sentiments, not internationalism or sportsmanship. Just look at the sports that have been added to Tokyo. Surfing, skateboarding, baseball, c'mon gimme a break. You need money to participate in these games, and I can bet you that the poor countries won't be sending a delegation to participate in these events. Just cancel the games and cut losses because at the moment both Tedros and Bach have a credibility problem, and I'll be damned if Abe increases taxes again to pay for his little Olympic fiasco.

stop this useless Olympic game scam . and refund all the money you steal from citizens!

As long as there is no vaccine there will he no Olympics, pretty hard to plan such a huge event without any certainty.

WHO has proven its complete uselessness and it’s management is corrupt. The President and his team went to China in the early stages to go pick up their bribes. Never set a foot in Wuhan. It is totally controlled by China. Another proof of that is that it keeps , as a so-called humanitarian organisation, refusing a membership to Taiwan. I am not a Taiwan fan having been subjected to torture by the Taiwan state.

the WHO is a self serving institute full of overpaid selfish people fighting over positions.

I hope Trump will not give them another dollar and the organisation is disbanded. They have no practical use. Much more can be done by sending the money spend on them directly to national medical organisations, not NPO’s or NGO’s as they are mostly the same as WHO

This is getting pathetic. The more the WHO feels that some countries may reduce their donations to them and the more they try to look nice, concerned and they make some statement to look alive....generally something trivial or obvious or news and updates coming from third parties.

I guess it's a bit too late to look alive and alert. They had to be active last December.

The WHO + Tokyo Olympics = nightmare.

Olympics? Let's IOC handle that, WHO job is to get rid off current pandemic!

Agree wholeheartedly with all the other comments here. It’s a clean sweep. The Olympics are dead. They’ve been corrupted by greed. Cancel Tokyo 2020 and put any money saved into healthcare, helping the needy. Surely this crises has taught us to get our priorities in order.

Nobody will listen to the WHO anymore.

WHO and their best friend China messed these things up.

And currently, nobody cares about the Olympics.

Does anyone even care what the WHO aka mouthpiece of communist China, advises these days?

6 ( +21 / -15 )

The CHO...err WHO have clearly outed themselves as a corrupt mouthpiece of the CCP. No pun intended, but who cares what the WHO says?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

The WHO now would be better off keeping a LOW profile & do some REAL self-reflection!

Please keep well away from the Japanese Olympics, corrupt, undemocratic WHO and crooked Tedros. You have done enough damage to the world through failing to warn about the seriousness of this once in 100 year pandemic.

Tedros' "everything is under control", and "China has done a wonderful job" will go down as the most corrupt and reckless speeches in history. Look at where the USA is now because of WHO...in ruins. There is a chance it will never recover.

Roger Daltrey is a member of the only WHO I listen to now ...... as he proclaimed so well .... "we won't get fooled again!" (shame for some reason we continue to be fooled.

Whatever time I have left on this earth is too precious to spend a moment listening to the World Health Organization.

I hope the WHO does not get any more U.S. tax money until it is reformed.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I'm shocked that anyone would still seriously listen to the CCP's propaganda agency, The World Health Organization.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I'm going to stop pretending there's a pandemic.

Hopefully the virus doesn't pretend there's a you. Stay healthy.

There is a long list of things that would required global unity... If you rank by budget, the Olympic circus is indeed in the top. Now, ranked as usefulness and urgency, it's below rank 1000.

The WHO? Isn’t that the organization that says video games are bad. And video games are directly causing people to commit violent crimes?

The WHO? Isn’t that the organization that says it’s perfectly healthy and natural for a man to sever off his private parts and dress like a woman?

Yes. Yes it is.

The Tokyo Olympics will not happen next year.

The virus will still be everywhere and Japan does not need

another international crisis to be accountable for. It's OFF!

"Tokyo should have been awarded the games,"

Shouldn't that statement be re-worded? Completely agree regarding the possibility of an impending tax hike, however.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The Tokyo Olympics should be held next year regardless of vaccines.

With no spectators.

Except Japanese spectators, because as we have seen, Japanese don’t get sick and die of coronavirus.

Lol, these people crack me up, wasted money and the government honestly believe people are excited about the games next year after what we’re going through, never will happen. The vast majority of the world could care less about the games, they’ll never sell these games out, but what irks me even more is that because of this, I just know there’s a huge tax hike looming over our heads...undeservedly. Tokyo should have been awarded the games, that was an astronomical mistake.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I love the Olympics, but in this case, I hope it bombs, Tokyo should have never got the chance to hold them, it made absolutely no sense in that part of Japan, there are other less congested cities in Japan where the games could have been held at a much cheaper rate, easier to navigate, better accessibility, but Abe kept pushing and all the while during this pandemic. They should fail.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I'm going to stop pretending there's a pandemic. Time for life.
