Great optics. The first medal at Japan's already contentious Olympics is won by... a Chinese competitor.
Boy, that must sting.

Good for Yang! Boo for China.

China's Yang wins 1st gold of Tokyo Olympics in air rifle :
A good start for China.
Most encouraging..

It will for some. I must admit to having almost zero interest in the Olympics, but I always enjoy watching patriots and nationalists getting bitter.
Well done Ms Yang!

Bach hasn’t left Japan yet?
What’s he waiting for?
More money?

@ossan Good for Yang! Boo for China
What's wrong with you?

I've been asking that question for a long time. My guess, sour grapes.
Neither. Hongkongers support their own team.

Hearty congratulations to winner Qian Yang and to runner-up Anastasiia Galashina.

last time the olympics were held in the UK we went to see the indoor shooting, the deadly accuracy of the shooters is unreal! consistently hitting the centre, time after time, round after round, I have an high quality air rifle, i use it at a indoor shooting range, the first shot i took ( after warming up) I would have been out of the medals, to achieve this score is furnominal, so well do to Yang.

@shogun36. Bach is obviuosly enjoying his VIP treatment and having 'sleepless nights ' about how much money $$$$ is going into his bank account. Tedros is another clown for allowing the Olympics to go ahead. He is also enjoying all the privilges of a VIP.

How rude.

Nothing. I support the Chinese people. But not the CCP dictatorship.

Good on Yang, and China for winning so far. SK also has a gold. That's two out of three in East Asia.

Sting who? US? Japan? Australia? Hong Kong? Taiwan? Vietnam? Philippines? Who?

I wonder if she was using the holy grail of Christmas gifts, the Red Ryder 200-shot range model air rifle.
Congratulations, Ms Yang, but be careful: you might shoot your eye out!

Tasteless and very unappropiate!
