Well, that's a shame.

The IOC needs a bigger carpet to hide all the scandal under...

Hush money.

“In this organising committee there are no people associated with the bid committee.”
Translation: We know that the bid is as dirty as the inside of a toilet at Shinjuku station, and we've known it for a long time, so we intentionally made these groups this way in order to insulate us.
Outrider
what a farce.

Plausible deniability...the motto of IOC, FIFA, and the rest of the bloated, corrupt, 'sports' commissions..

What is this clown doing anywhere near a position of responsibility? He was clinically dead when 'governing' as prime minister and he certainly hasn't improved with age.
The alleged bribe payment should be first on every agenda for every meeting until it is solved.

IOC will never be short of action supporting corruption in their favor, hopefully, external investigators are not bounded to the IOC.

Boycott the whole corrupt stinking pile of muck. The olympics died years ago, anyway.

Not on the agenda because it has happened in most of the other Olympics as well. This issue is not limited to Japan and as Outrider has said, the Olympics and IOC have become a corrupt stinking pile of ........ Always leaves a nice big tab for taxpayers to pick up and often results in under-utilization of facilities constructed for the games or outright abandonment.

One is tempted to wonder how much they were bribed to leave it off the agenda...
smithinjapan
Of course not, they were paid not to talk about it. It's a legitimate payment!

Meh, these big sporting events have been at it for decades. No doubt certain gaijin are already pinning this on "Japan, Inc", when Qatar have pretty much been caught red-handed "buying" a World Cup.
Also, directly under this article, I see three "Insight" (implying factual, unbiased in-depth looks at issues) articles about why it's good to play golf, all of which appear to have been written by a totally unbiased source called "Samadhi Golf School".
