That's a mighty big 'trust me' governor.

i strong wish and hope that you are right but recent history shows otherwise

How about creating a design to keep cool air in and hot air out.

Well that pretty much eliminates the possibility of the Japan Olympics coming in under budget.

What else is he going to say?

You cannot tell with certainty what the future brings to you. The Titanic was "unsinkable" yet it sank. A sudden economic collapse can change a lot of things. The wrath of nature can out the Olympics in a secondary priority with people more worried about plain survival.

Jump forward 4 years, Mayor resigns, bows, very sorry, disappears, stadium barely finished, paint and concrete still drying, but downsized but at the same time seriously over budget.

"Laying the foundations"?? Did I miss something? Has a new design been completed by a selected designer, given a building permit and tendered out?

It will be finished but in what condition? Couple of bolts and supporters missing here and there I assume.

Didn't the head of the JOC just a couple of weeks back, when the IOC paid a visit, say that an April completion date was more likely? Perfect example of why the Tokyo Games will continue to flounder in mediocrity -- too many chiefs, but not one real leader.

Um, did he factor in the big predicted earthquake?

Ha! 5 to 1 says it doesn't. Any takers.

Empty, the stadium was supposed to be used for the Rugby World Cup too, but what a failure that turned out to be..

Is it still necessary for Japan to go on and host the 2020 Olympics? There is no guarantee that hosting an Olympics will boost the economy.

Probably better condition than original plan, Didn't you hear lottery will be used to raise money?

Excuse me Mr Matsuzoe, while I grab a big pinch of salt
