Koike sees 'no circumstances' for cancelling Olympics

Koike’s vacuous remarks and disregard for the general public show her to be from the same pod as the rest of the LDP.

In an overcrowded city like Tokyo, where this week will see infection quickly rise, there is nothing that she can do to prevent it.

There will not be an Olympics due to the fact that athletes from around the world are currently banned from taking part in team sports.

Not only lack of training but also the risk of spreading the virus is just an unacceptable risk for a series of sporting events.

Tokyo's governor said she can see "no circumstances" under which the virus-postponed 2020 Olympics will be cancelled, despite rising coronavirus infections in Japan and continued public skepticism…….

This pandemic is returning wave after wave. Even evading all the sterling efforts of the Global community to halt the COVID-19 infection.

The unthinkable circumstance of cancellation that Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike is in denial of, are right in front of her face.

A COVID-19 vaccine ultimate effectiveness will be determined on continued social distancing measures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment, hand sanitizers and face masks.

A Sports festival with the logistics that is required to host an Olympic Game, in a city the size of Tokyo is irrationally absurd, on public safety grounds alone.  

These obscene crazy numbers/costs, how many $billions and still counting, clearly indicate the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing and the 2024 Summer Games in Paris are untenable.

If the Tokyo Olympics are cancelled or (yet again) postponed, it will have zero affect on the Paris Olympics. Just as it will have zero (or a negative affect) on Fukushima or controlling the coronavirus, which have both been touted by politicians (Abe, Suga) as the reason for spending billions of dollars on the Tokyo Olympics.

Clearly doesn't care one wit about the people. Not one wit. I challenge both Koike, Mori, Motegi, and the members of the IOC to sign a contract saying they will be personally responsible for any and all deaths resulting from staging the Olympics if they are held, be it through Covid-19 or related deaths, and that they would be open to any and all lawsuits and possible jail time. If they do that, and still insist on going through with it, I'll support them.
