Tokyo Olympic chief apologizes to IOC over stadium change

How about apologizing to the people? Our taes you're wasting, after all.

Am I the only one who finds this ludicrous that an Olympic bid city can scrap the original plans of the Olympic stadium after they have been awarded the games (based largely on the original Olympic stadium plans) and then start over with a new design and construction competition???(which not many would bet against the new designs, construction,etc blowing out financially as well) I wish the IOC would just say, sorry guys but 2020 is going to another city.

After going through the design process again, same old bid-rigging, rushing construction, the final cost of the stadium will most likely be the same as the original design would have cost
