“The note in the report is beyond our understanding.”
You bribed him. Not that difficult.
“The Games were awarded to Tokyo because the city presented the best bid,”
A compact, inexpensive Games promised, if I recall. To date the costs have exploded, there have been at least two major scandals (with a third regarding the main stadium well in the works), it is now going to be spread out across Japan, and that's only the beginning.
“Tokyo’s bid was about Japan’s commitment to address issues around the integrity of sport.”
Hahaha... 'integrity'.

“The Games were awarded to Tokyo because the city presented the best bid,” including the largest donations to make the IOC members feel .... well happy!?

Seems like the Tokyo Olympic Committee is in a perpetual state of puzzlement.

Dick Pound... Ha..excellent and with that good evening.
Back hands and nonsense.. of course who would expect any less, those that are suppose to lead and represent are so often people we would be ashamed to call friends.

Millions in payoff off so somebody would "sell his vote"? How is this "beyond understanding"?

Perhaps it means "considering the amount we shelled out, we expected them all to keep their mouths shut. Wasn't that the deal?"
Well, these are turning out to some interesting Fun and Games! This one looks like turning into the juiciest scandal yet. I wonder if Japan will be able to keep up this rate of scandals and cockups to keep us all entertained for the next four years. The organisers, if they can be called that, are certainly setting the bar high. I feel so sorry for all the people here who had such high hopes for these games, who are going to keep on seeing Japan's name dragged through the mud.
