Baseball!

Anything but baseball.

Compulsive shopping

Anything but baseball.

Well considering which sport is tops in this country and Japan has a high chance in earning a Gold medal, I'd say baseball will win by a landslide.

Skateboarding and surfing are just messing around; not sports.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

“focus on youth appeal” and engage the Japanese population and a worldwide audience.

So basically they have already chosen baseball and surfing / skateboarding

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Any so called sport that is judged subjectively should be dumped. Too much bias, and open to corruption.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I've always thought they can bring baseball back when they introduce cricket to the olympics, which isn't likely to happen. I do actually like baseball, but having it in the olympics was a joke.

DARTS! If shooting is considered a sport then I don't see why we can't have a bit of tungsten bedlam in there too

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Futsal

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Damn it. Karate is long overdue to be added as an Olympic sport. So add Karate already!

Applications will be examined by a special “additional event program” panel.

Any chance people other than loyal LDP oyaji will be on the panel? Didn't think so.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Rather watch Baseball than Golf (which is an Olympic sport starting 2016 again).

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Baseball is obviously going to win -- Japan has a good chance of medaling -- despite it not being popular world-wide.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Invest to new sport A horse archery! Japan can get gold easily.

SUMO must get its rightful place in World Olympic Games. It has huge fans world over.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

The liquid toss ? Up-skirt photography ? The long grope?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Mixed Martial Arts

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Any sports that has the word "synchronized" in it, needs to be dropped immediately.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Second vote that..Mixed Martial Arts!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

why the need for baseball, only two or three countries really play it. Rugby Sevens would be a much better spectator sport

2 ( +5 / -3 )

MMA would be great, but I think the blood would scare off anyone who is actually making the decision.

Please no baseball. Please. Please.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

@Sharma, is that a pun?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

On a global scale baseball is a minority sport, as well as being deathly dull for non-fans to watch. They got rid of it from the Olympics for a reason. Please don't bring it back. Squash and karate are the obvious candidates. I'd love to see darts in the Olympics one day.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Anything but baseball

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Darts, sure. But from 50 meters.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Ultrarunning!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@wtfjapan, Rugby Sevens will be played at the Brazil & Tokyo Olympics, its already been decided. They had it at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland last year, apparently it was a massive success.

Earthquake reconstruction?

as well as being deathly dull for non-fans to watch

Same can be said about most sports in the Olympics.

why the need for baseball, only two or three countries really play it.

8 teams qualify

having it in the olympics was a joke.

Why because your country's team doesn't send their best players?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Karaoke?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Rugby.........now there's a great game.
