Greatest NFL player of all-time, and no other athlete in the world in any sport exceeded his standards in their respective sport.

What's that, you say? Lucy is holding the football for Charlie Brown to kick, again?

He should have retired earlier, in victory, not defeated like now... In addition to having promoted the FTX crypto scam and incidentally having lost 70 million...

It is not a happy retirement from football, well, byebye, his retirement is the best for US football..

@RKL,

I would say Donald Brahman did.

Brady’s career has been nearly as epic though.

Good riddance to that narcissistic, finger-pointing, tantrum-throwing crybaby.

no other athlete in the world in any sport exceeded his standards in their respective sport.

Only in terms of team championships, which requires significant input from teammates and coaches.

But as far as individual stats? Far from it. In the NHL, Wayne Gretzky's individual stats are so far ahead of the 2nd place person in any given category that it's mind blowing. In terms of individual statistics, Brady was barely (or not) above any of his contemporaries while they all played. He eventually edged ahead in several categories simply because he played to a much older age than the others did.

Brady gave up millions in salary to stay with one team. He is known for no being narcissistic, never pointing the finger at other players or coaches, and the tantrum comment is just silly.

He is the leading passer of all-time in several categories.

But as far as individual stats?

Nope, that is not my argument.

Far from it. In the NHL, Wayne Gretzky's individual stats are so far ahead of the 2nd place person in any given category that it's mind blowing. In terms of individual statistics,

Wayne is one of my faves. But Ovechkin will break his all-time goal record. Bobby Orr was a better all-around player, and Super Mario is on par talent-wise.

Brady was barely (or not) above any of his contemporaries while they all played. He eventually edged ahead in several categories simply because he played to a much older age than the others did.*

No, he was in the top 5 ranking his entire career. He broke records early in his career too.

for those who don’t know - Donald Bradman was probably the best cricket player ever

A subjectively silly statement.

I'd say 27 year old Mikaela Shiffrin, on the verge of breaking all wins records in world cup ski racing, is at least as high a standard because she's ready to break decades old world win totals by either female or male, ready to pass the great Ingemar Stenmark.

Lewis Hamilton with 7 world F-1 championships and still going is right there, as well.

Michael Jordan. duh.

Gretzky, for sure.

and Super Mario is on par talent-wise.

What a silly narrative. Brady didn't have the best arm. Not the quickest feet. Not the most talent at QB, he was the best because of preternatural abilities, of which Gretzky had so much, if you ever watched 99 actually play, you might understand. Not the fastest skater. Hardest shot. Biggest body.

But he had the greatest hockey brain ever. Knew where everyone was on the ice, could get pucks hard or soft at the perfect timing. I've seen him do touch passes that throw off the timing of 2 defenders and barely have the puck reach his own teammate, but perfectly placed for a high danger scoring chance, often finding the net.

He's the GOAT simply because he won 7 SBs and was the SB MVP 5 times. Incredible, unheard of and probably unbreakable because few if any players can play NFL football for 23yrs and at such a high level. His greatness is undeniable but if I had to choose one QB to play one SB, I would go with Joe Montana. Loved Brady's retirement announcement. Short and simple yet honest and heartfelt. No fireworks, no flash. The way it should be.

It only cost him his marriage for coming back to what turned out to be his first-ever losing season vs. if he had retired last year

Lol, because, as he actually mentioned in his 2nd retirement, he already had his dramatic retirement last year - and ya only get to do that once, so the 2nd is short and simple

“I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d let you guys know first," Brady says in the video. “I won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay and I used mine up last year."
