@Nemo, good post. The Yankees got Andrew Benintendi from the Royals and he's doing just what Merrifield did. He says if the Yankees play the Blue Jays in the postseason, he'll get vaxxed. Kyrie Irving just derailed the Brooklyn Nets, and they had legitimate championship aspirations, by doing the same. I am a players-first type of person but there needs to be a clause in all new contracts about getting vaxxed. You refuse and you forfeit the year's salary and your roster position. These guys are holding their teams hostage.

Kikuchi's having an awful year. I don't understand why they still bring him out.

Incidentally, Whit Merrifield a position player - who was tagged for a HR in the 9th as a “we give up” relief pitcher, was 1 of 10 Royals who were ineligible to play in (you guessed it) Toronto earlier this year because of his unvaccinated status.
Far from being a conscientious objector, Whit actually stated in the press that he “might” get vaccinated if he was playing in the post season “where it really matters.” Way to throw your teammates under the bus, Whit(less).
Apparently, I wasn’t the only Royals fan (we DO exist, dwindling in number though we are…) who was Uber-pissed and a week later at the trade deadline, Whit was on a flight to Toronto (where one can assume that he got vaxxed asap.) which was probably the desired effect of his anti-team outburst in the first place.
Like I say, I was pretty happy to see him get taken deep to Center. In keeping with the kind of jerk he is, he “drilled” the next batter with his 60 mph (No, I’m not making that up) “fast”ball.

The Jays got in at 4 am from a late game in Boston. Not an excuse but that must suck.
better luck next game

Mocheake,
We were worried that Benintendi had ruined his trade value as a result of that and that we were not going to be able to get as much or worse (gulp) just watch him walk at the end of the season for nothing.
Yankees got a good player and Royals got good value (not that we ever do anything with it....)

Unfortunately they are still a bunch of losers!
