Oh I know for a fact he speaks a heck of a lot more than a few words of English. He had no problems talking to our American pitchers on the field without a translator last year.

What on earth is that supposed to mean? I seriously doubt that any Japanese infielder tracking a fly ball in a game calls off fellow infielders with that gobbledy gook of a sentence.

You'd think calling off someone for a fly ball would be easy regardless of language. You yell and wave your hands. How hard is that to understand?
