Isn't this the Anti-America trash talker?

Now she's begging America to get her out.

You did the crime... enjoy your time.

She is so “brave” to have pled guilty to importing drugs, says the media.

it’s not “wrongful detention” when she pled guilty.

Yes she was trash talking the USA before she went to Russia.

but now writing letters to Biden begging for help as she claims to have voted for him.

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time! She will be Putins Pawn surely!

You entered another country with illicit drugs, you have to pay the consecuences..

Many US citizens believe they can do the same stupid things they do in their country..

Grow up Jankz, the world is not yours..

No high is worth the risk of 10 years in a Russian prison so why? Did she think, as so many do, that her celebrity would protect her from a search of her luggage? Griner is young and foolish, but does not deserve a draconian sentence that would destroy her sporting talent and perhaps even her life. In far too many countries around the world inhumane drug penalties for people without money and political connections are absurdly incommensurate with the "crime". Griner deserves a second chance: deporting her back to the US is the only humane solution. After all, who would have been happy had Sir Paul been banged up for years in a Japanese jail for putting his personal supply of weed in his luggage?

It is interesting- in the weeks of coverage of this case, there was never any mention of the fact that, actually, she WAS carrying drugs into Russia. The coverage focused instead on how this may be a political arrest, used for propaganda, etc. NOT on the fact that she actually did the crime!

She actively tried to get the American flag and National Anthem removed from WNBA games, yet now wants that same country (which she appears to hold in such contempt) to come to her rescue.

As for Secretary Blinken, he is a fool. Brittney was NOT "wrongfully detained". She was caught with drugs. Now the best she can hope for is some mercy for her guilty plea and being released/deported as a good will gesture. Yet Russia would be fully blameless if they choose to imprison her for breaking the law.

As I recall, the "illicit drug" found on her was residue in the bottom of a couple of vials totaling a whopping 0.75 grams. Intent to distribute to whom? Perhaps Lilliputians?

She pled guilty to try to hurry up and get it over with. A risky strategy that I would not have taken as it encourages Vlads mini-me's (as we see here) to say "A-Ha! She pled guilty!"

Fact Check: True and without a written guarantee that I would be out of Moscow on the next plane, I wouldn't have done that.

No, she is a pawn in Putin's game of hostage diplomacy. It's an asymmetrical game he can play because he can have anyone held at any time for any reason. Sadly, the West cannot do the same. Darn rule of law and all that....

So I would encourage all westerners, famous and otherwise to avoid Russia and Russian air space like the plague.

Vlad will put you in prison at any time on any imagined contrivance should it benefit him and the ability of your government to help you will depend on their willingness and ability to trade actual criminals for your freedom. Best to just not go there. Literally.

 "A-Ha! She pled guilty!"

thats factually what happened. its not a claim.

that her celebrity would protect her

she ain’t no celebrity, most of the world have never heard of her (before this)

She has to plea guilty - it's the fastest way for the US and Russia to get a prisoner swap deal

Russia won't negotiate a swap deal until the court case is over

It's just a political dance with the end goal for a swap deal
