Also the problems with his infection certificate would make him much more closely observed, and it would be extremely easy to do a test and confirm he was not vaccinated, making your suggestion of fraud useless.

So on top of vaccine passes, certificates and etc for vaccines acknowledged and proven not to work, you support people being pulled aside and subjected to blood tests to determine if the vaccine wasn't a harmless fake?

Freaky stuff. This would have been considered a dystopian nightmare 3 years ago.

Top athletes are constantly and closely followed by doctors and trainers, who get to observe vaccine adverse effects that are not noticed in the general population. I respect Djokovic for not going along with this charade.

The guy has recently been infected and has better protection than most vaxxed without prior infection. Let's stop this circus ffs.

look up the meaning if tyranny... Its not mandating a simple health requirement.

I agree, but this is the Internet era when people redefine words to suit their agenda, and most of us still live in countries with a semblance of democracy remaining. I like the last line of this Asimov quote:

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ****'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'

good on you make your stand!

To quote another famous person…

”You must do what you feel is right of course”

and

“Who is not foolish the fool or the fool who followed?”

I do not need to see you play tennis, ever!

Those who continually harp about the efficacy of vaccines, falsely claiming that being infected offers more protection are not just absurdist, but completely delusional. Djokovic, has been twice (at a minimum) infected with SARSCoV-2. Which punctures that claim - let alone the voluminous studies and research that prove the effectiveness of vaccines.

His weird nonsense about personal liberty and freedom illustrates his complete ignorance of those terms - let alone his bizarre dissociative remarks about his 'body'.

For everyone saying he should get the vaccine, would you get the vaccine if 2 independent panels of doctors decide that there are valid medical risks for you taking it?

Would you be so brave to do that, in order to maybe have a slightly lower chance of catching the virus ? Especially, considering that you already have some degree of natural immunity, since you had it before.

Do you then!

People have the right to choose, so go ahead and hurt ur own career.

It is important that we respect everyones rights, and force people to do things that are not necessary.

The governments and Pharma lied about Covid many times to all. Why should they be trusted?

20 years from now...

"Novak who?"

"You know, that guy who was famous for being an anti-vaxxer. Used to play tennis, too."

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Don't tweet about it when you do.

55 times better protection for the prior infected compared to 20 times for recently vaxxed. And longer lasting protection as well. Says it all. But we both know its not about the science.

I have respect for Novaks views. I just wonder why it took him so long to come out with these comments? Makes me wonder whether he enjoys the whole media circus. Regardless, his views are perfectly reasonable.

He could be the best ever

But if this is what he wants his legacy to be, instead of his sports legacy....................

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I don't think he should take the vaccine. But I also don't think he should be given any waivers for that choice. It's his choice, and he can deal with the fallout of that choice. The same way any responsible adult does.

He has won 20 tournaments but is now more famous for being an idiot. He was one before of course but now the whole world knows it. Why does he not also start driving through red lights also because red lights are a form of tyranny as well by his goofy definition? He could run over people just as he may have infected others with COVID who possibly have died so he can escape from tyranny. What a sap. And he is willing to pass up other tournaments to carry on his insanity. It is so much like the anti-vaxxers who die from COVID denying COVID exists.

If they were with novak in Australia then they were vaccinated

Fine... Don't play. Your choice. In the extra free time you have look up the meaning if tyranny... Its not mandating a simple health requirement.

He may be able to play tennis but he is no Champion. His ignorance is astounding and the example he sets deplorable. He should be banned for life from playing professional tennis everywhere.

He lies and has no remorse about it. Totally over his shenanigans. He is now old news.

Fine... Don't play. Your choice.

Yes. As an athlete you should know about your health more than anyone but you're just acting like the 'dumb jock' stereotype. Vaccination against a virus and prevention against giving it to others is a matter of

Common.

Sense.

He doesn't seem to be showing it. You don't follow the rules, you don't play. And while you wallow in your voodoo doo-doo, everyone else just will go on without you.

That is the consequence of making terribly bad decisions trying to sidestep a measure with dubious proof of infection. People that do shady things are looked at more carefully, also doing blood tests to professional athletes is nothing new and a fake vaccination is not harmless it not only promotes fraud, it also increase the risk for everybody else the unvaccinated comes in contact with.

Why should he unnecessarily risk his health and life just to play a game.

The actuall unnecessary risk he is taking is remaining unvaccinated and that is completely on his own irrational choice.

He doesn't need this.

Top athletes are constantly and closely followed by doctors and trainers, who get to observe vaccine adverse effects that are not noticed in the general population.

This appeal to authority works for the vaccines and not against it, because the organizations of professionals that have in mind the health of professional athletes have said there is no truth on the baseless reports of serious adverse effects. It is the same as the scientific and medical consensus that says vaccines are effective and safe and that anybody included in the groups to be vaccinated benefit from it.

Being rational and choosing not to increase the risk for others because of personal beliefs that can be proved false is a reason much more adequate to respect someone, even if this is something extremely common that most people are already doing.

Sports and vaccine mandates don’t mix.

They mix just fine. We're ok with those who have chosen to not compete because they don't want to get vaccinated. That's their choice. As long as they're not stupid enough to think they should get some sort of waiver because they know how to move their bodies really well in a particular way. No logic in that whatsoever.

Just go to a clinic in Serbia and get a saline shot. To be the undisputed GOAT is more important than making a statement against the vaccine tyranny.

For some people being able to make their irrational choices is more important than anything else. That is one of the dangers of thinking they themselves are the maximum authority about everything.

Also the problems with his infection certificate would make him much more closely observed, and it would be extremely easy to do a test and confirm he was not vaccinated, making your suggestion of fraud useless.

Instead of getting vaccine to set some positive example as a celebrity, he choose to stay the opposite side. Way more pride. Tennis championship was there before you and will remain after you. Good luck!
