Wow, seb Coe, what planet are you on? I could think of a number of places better equipped than Japan

Finally, a voice of reason from Mr Mills, the real organisor of the London Olympics. The Nike stool pigeon who is Coe is a self serving, self important, shameless man. A GREAT athlete, a sad person

You can say that again. I always preferred the two Steves.

My thoughts on this.

It will be difficult and unfair but if you can prevent travel in and out of Tokyo for a set time before the games start and make it a priority to vaccinate Tokyo residents before the rest of the country until herd immunity is achieved and keep the city in a "bubble" then it might be possible to hold the games. It will require a lot of political guts and determination to achieve though.

As for the athletes, they are mostly young, have 0% body fat and are in peak physical condition and if they are vaccinated the risk to them should be close to zero. It would be unfair to deny them an opportunity to shine at an event that they have prepared their whole lives for.

The experience from last year showed us that the virus doesn't do well in the brutal summer heat and humidity.

It’s madness to think they can go ahead with the Tokyo Olympics.

already athletes are unable to train properly and the qualification process has been severely hampered.

look at the mess that is the Australian Open and magnify that by 10.

"Our counter measures on COVID-19 are working under the assumption that we will not have a vaccine, so even if we do not, our plan is that we will be able to deliver the Games."

WE DO HAVE A VACCINE! APPROVE IT ALREADY!

If I could give you a +2 I would. My thoughts exactly, particularly w.r.t. Seb Coe

...our plan is that we will be able to deliver the Games."

No one has ordered them, so deliver elsewhere, return to sender or ecologically recycle. lol
