Nothing has worked so far with N Korea. Why don't we all just ignore N. Korea instead of trying to appease them?

Moon’s efforts to brown nose North Korea have been contemptuously rejected leaving him and his policies in tatters so now they are reduced to floating ridiculous ideas that have no chance of coming to fruition in the vain hope the North might agree to something but without any input from the North as they know it would be shot down with derision. Moon’s failure has left South Korea politically weakened and looking progressively more ridiculous and irrelevant.

I suspect that this is an April Fools' Day joke...

Sapquest, sure hope it is although it can’t be a worse mess then Tokyo

Ah yes, South Korea can throw the Javelin and North Korea can launch Ballistic Missiles...

North Korea? So are the athletes going to be tied up and shot by a missile if they don't medal in their sport?

SK president moon should be shot for trying to award anything to this belligerent killing regime.

As a human being, I'm ever in search of that universal brotherhood, the cosmic love. I applaud any effort that will distance enemity of any kind. If our forefathers lived by the sword and we now know better, then by all means let's beat the swords into ploughshares.

It would be fun to have the long distance event across the DMZ. Olympians will quickly become paralympians.

Part of the fun of going to the Olympics as a fan is visiting places and enjoying the sites. Doesn't North Korea restrict tourists what they are able to see and take pictures of? What fun is that?

The announcement was made yesterday on 1.4, and then I thought that it's a cheap April Fool :P

With his approval rate down to a record low and days numbered, President Moon is struggling for a peaceful and honorable exit. Otherwise the candle purge and jail would wait him.

Worth a try. Doubtful it will be successful, but it's better than doing nothing.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

It would be great if South and North Korea could reunite peacefully as one nation, or at least cooperate financially and culturally, but as long as the North is ruled by a dictatorship, that is not likely to happen. An absolute dictator does what is needed to stay in power, and may care very little, if at all, for the welfare of the people.

I just don't understand Moon's obsession (love affair) with Kim's North Korea.

If ROK and DPRK win, you know Kim Jong Un will make last minute and unreasonable demands when hosting Olympics.

While the idea of "unifying" is definitely in the Olympics spirit... nah. I can't even imagine the security issues there would be.
