Fighto!
If the basho goes ahead, it will be an incredibly reckless and life-threatening event for the wrestlers. Most of whom are in a very high risk group, with BMIs over 30 and up.
Cancel it.

The next tournament should be cancelled. The wrestlers are in a high risk group, they should be shielding.

This is the end of the Sumo New Year tournament but also for the Olympics. 3 Days after Momota, a second high profile sports man gets infected. And this is psychologically a blow the Olympics can not overcome.

I find it hard to imagine that the Sumo Assoc will cancel now. But I do imagine the Tokyo Olymics getting cancelled or postponed further down the road. Which is what should have been done in the first place.
The whole approach to Covid19 with the rather "idiotic" go to travel, go to eat, go spread Covid programs as well as actually beliving that the world will be ready for a summer Olympics in 2021 (although the IOC bears some major responsibility here as well) is a clear example of Japan's response to Covid as "Amai" as they like to say.

On one hand I wonder why they keep doing these sports event even when it has become clear they are a huge risk of spreading, but on the other hand the more evidence can be collected the more difficult it becomes to justify the Olympics.

Who cares about Mori, he has very little regard for humankind.

Eh! Sumo wrestlers always have literally close contact with other wrestlers. I'm worried about the further spread of infection.

He certainly doesn't have any co-morbidities or anything...

A not disinfected remote control or beer bottle? lol

The only way sumo wrestling can carry on, is that every person involved with the wrestlers, the wrestlers and staff should be tested every two days, and any person who has this virus, the whole of the people around him should self isolate for 10-14 days, as for the main arena no spectators, only televised bought's

If these guys have all been practicing together, let the show go on.
