International Ski Federation chief Gian-Franco Kasper has dismissed any fears among athletes, saying the Pyeongchang Olympics would be the "safest in the world".

What else is he going to say?

Let's be real here, you have a nut, literally a few hundred miles away, with his fingers on the trigger of nukes and you call the area "the safest in the world"?

This is a prudent move and would be completely understandable to decline sending a team to these Winter Olympic games if the threat is too great. Kim Jong Un has a habit of performing provocative acts at the most inopportune times, so doing something big during a massive international event a few hundred kilometers away actually seems more likely than not
