U.S. reaches Women's World Cup quarterfinals after 2-1 win over Spain

The woman's game has come so far, so fast. I am constantly stunned at the skill, toughness and speed of these ladies. This is soccer at the highest level.  

While everyone prefers great plays to PKs, this match was typical of games in knockout rounds. Smile! The US team is one of the few things these days of which America can be proud. Onward.

And is Japan still in with at chance? (If I wanted US news, I'd go to USA Today)

If China and Japan both lose today, it'd be all Europeans + USA left (an UEFA + USA cup)
