Hey JT. How about some news on the women's team? They actually win!

It is a shame to lose like this at home even though the match was a dead rubber. Round 4 will be tough for sure, especially if Japan gets drawn in a pool with 3 that have topped their groups. Hope Japan can pull a miracle and bring back their Asia Cup form in Round 4.

@NetNinja

Japan, as usual, performed very poorly in front of countless fans that bought out the stadium in hopes to overwhelm Uzbekistan must have been very disappointed.

You are obvisouly trolling or have no idea about soccer. Japan has only last 2 games since 2010 when ZAC became the coach. 19 matches played, 11 wins, 6 draws, 2 losses.

Please check the statistic before you say utter nonsense!!!

daisan: "Not really just the usual, Japan having the ball and not knowing what to do with it."

True that. They still constantly suffer from a lack of real strikers.

@Elvensilvan: its pretty obvious why they lost... too many foreigners on the team. If they want to take a page from the National Rugby Team's excuse book.

but seriously though, they were just outplayed. They deserved nothing from the game

Sounds like I missed a good game

Sounds like I missed a good game, and am a little surprised by the result. Good on Uzbekistan. At least they already secured their place in the next round, though Dentshop is correct about the problems this poses for Japan.

So ... will the diet use up a session to discuss how the Japanese team lost the game?

It doesn't matter, Japan will win the World Cup anyway.

Uzbekistan was faster, more skilled, more aggressive, and bigger. They clearly were the better team.

Lost to Uzbekistan?! Well, congrats to the U.S. team. They beat Italy for the first time ever!

The loss means Japan will drop into Pot 2 in the World Cup qualifying draw next Friday.

There will be facepalms aplenty at the JFA this morning with the knowledge that the combination of beating Iceland and losing to the Uzbeks, along with the overnight Korean win drops them out of Pot 1.

I remember seeing the Iceland team on TV in the tunnel, big smiles after the first-class flights, 5 star hotel and playing in front of 55000 crazy fans, a dream come true for these guys. Whoever knew it might end up a nightmare for the JFA.

That was a great game. Uzbekistan pretty much dominated the match.

Japan, as usual, performed very poorly in front of countless fans that bought out the stadium in hopes to overwhelm Uzbekistan must have been very disappointed.
