"Women speak too much." Is this a serious offence?

The payments probe shows that this timeline omits the pre-selection bribery activities, all the pre-selection false narratives about cost performance and the budget projection lies spun by Dentsu, the media and various corporate welfare recipients eager for public handouts.

Also omitted is how the pro-Olympic insistence of so-called leaders, such as Koike and Abe, has delayed government response to the pandemic.

We can add to the timeline the coming decades taxpayers will have to fund the massive debt for what ultimately is just a one month celebration for nationalists and the construction industries.

After it was proved in Paris that Takeda did bribe IOC members a Japanese independent comision exculpated him.

The "this is Japan" justice system promotes bribery.

This timeline omits the biggest lie of all:

What’s your point, Alfie? (without us having to click & watch Your YouTube?

@vanity. Yes, on two fronts. Firstly, one of the tenets of the Olympics is gender equality so for Mori to speak and perpetuate a false sexist stereotype in the 21st century is ignorant and asinine. If he had said, "Some PEOPLE talk too much" I don't think we would be where we are now. Secondly, for someone in his position to not have the common sense or the professionalism to know what is appropriate and inappropriate only shows incompetence.

@dbsaiya great answer. It’s shocking that we even have to state the obvious.

mori never should have been put in charge of the Olympics.

Everybody has freedom of speech. Trump was 100 times more offensive than Mori but he woke up many people. I am afraid the trend suffocate freedom of speech.

Everybody has freedom of speech

People can say what they want, but if it is abhorrent. If it is a lie. If it goes against common sense and good. It will be condemned and have consequence.

Free speech has its responsibility to be credible, and if it isn't credible, it will be questioned, as it should be.

It is naive and wrong to equate free speech with saying anything one wants to, especially if it is a lie, insulting or untrue.

Great points except you forgot to mention lies about the worlds current worst preventable nuclear disaster that every day is spews bucketloads of killer iodizing radionuclides into air sea, water tables and food. 120km from Tokyo Olympics. For 10 years!

2013:

Thoughts turn to the victims of Japan's devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami, with the Olympics seen by some as a chance to rebuild.

Well, that disappeared quick.

Turbulent is the word -- not just for Olympics timeline, but also the Games itself.

One firmly believes that IOC should make a full evaluation of the virus spread scenario in April before making the final decision..

after his claims that women talk too much in meetings spark a firestorm of criticism.

By a firestorm I think they meant to say, a snowstorm of criticism.

Good Job @Goodlucktoyou for ‘having the stones’ to summarize the “whitewashing’ and reminds us all what’s been overlooked by the above timeline:

12:28p JST “...lies about the current world’s worst preventable nuclear disaster that spews killer radionuclides into air sea, water tables and food 120km from Tokyo for 10 years.

IF you want to read it, here’s then PM Abe’s plea to the IOC for the 2020 Olympics on 9/7/2013:

IF you don’t want to read, you can ‘watch’ a younger (obviously less tired-looking and healthier) PM Abe’s enthusiastic pleading on this (non-monetized) All-Nippon News Network (ANN) video here:
